If so, can you expand what gave you that enlightenment? Did it come from new understanding of scripture, your own personal relationship with God or understanding of other faiths?

Fireball and others, I was asking the question of certain Christians. If it does not apply to you, why answer just to condem?

Lover of Blue, seems more of a futile exercise of Jesus dying if BILLLIONS still end up in hell and only a handful are saved.

Yeah. Maturity, bible study (modern and original languages), extrabiblical studies, and wisdom from God. Life and the experiences of others.

People who get information from the bible alone miss out on the wisdom that is gained through God's holy spirit.

I have learned that the Bible is specific about being saved. There are several scriptures that tell us to be careful lest we fall. It's like holding a glass. Just because you're holding it now doesn't mean you won't ever drop it.

Even the apostle Paul, who surely was a “saved” Christian, believed that even he could be “disqualified” from the race. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

With that in mind as well as the scripture "narrow is the road and few finding it" I try my best to be aware that I'm imperfect and that I need to be on guard every day to resist temptation and pray for forgiveness.

Oh - so you are saying, "How many Christians believe Jesus lied"?

Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who keeps saying to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will get into the kingdom of heaven, but only the person who keeps doing the will of my Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:13 "Go in through the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the road is spacious that leads to destruction, and many people are entering by it.

If Jesus lied, then He sinned. If He sinned, then his sacrifice is worthless for redeeming us. Therefore, all would go to Hell.

So, the answer is, "No". No true Christian will arrive at that conclusion, because it would be a lie from the pit.

Not all Christians will be saved, and non-Christians will not be saved. In order to be saved, one has to obey the Gospel of Christ. One has to hear and believe in the Gospel. One has to confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God before men, and then be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Faith must always precede baptism. As sinners, we are slaves to sin. By obeying Jesus Christ and His Gospel, it frees us from sin.

John 3:16-17 (KJ21, 21st Century King James Version)
16"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

We are saved by Grace through faith plus nothing not of our own works least any man should boast.

Only those Who accept and place there faith in Jesus Christ as there Lord and savior will be saved. Those who reject Him WILL pay for it by seperation from him in a place called Hell. And those who choose to say they don't believe that will find out and then it will be to late to change there mind cause they will have to suffer for not believeing when they had the chance.

God loves us all and doesnt want anyone to suffer but he has also given us our own free will to have faith in him or not.

This isn't in the Bible. Not all will be saved and Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of those who accept him as their personal Savior. For those who don't accept they will surely be in Hell.

I don't think all will be saved, but I do think all will be saved who want to be. Heaven and Hell are a choice - perhaps the only real choice anyone ever makes.

Oh, Pixie, if all will be saved then Jesus died in vain; hell doesn't exsist (although Jesus said it does. If it doesn't He was a liar!)
God WANTS all to be saved as does Jesus who wept profusly when Jerusalem refused to embrace Him as the Savior from heaven.

We Christians don't want anyone to go to hell.

"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." 1Cor 6:9,10

yes, Jesus did die for all of mankind...but not everyone will have faith or even believe in Jesus. besides, salvation is not up to us but God does clearly state in His word that NOT everyone will inherit the kingdom of God and that is not going to change just because of your personal beliefs.
