Do you live in America? During the Clinton administration he made it illegal to consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition. It might be the only good thing he did. *wink*

Even if you don't get benefits, what difference does it really make? You've obviously been screwed or you wouldn't be knocked up. Being screwed again at this point is meaningless. If I were you I'd be more concerned with how you are going to teach your kid to speak spanish so it'll be able to understand it's boss when it becomes an adult. BTW, if you can't afford to have a child without the aid of health benefits, you're in for a big surprise down the road. It doesn't get any cheaper!

Pregnancy is not a pre-existing condition. My insurance didn't start until after I was pregnant but they still covered it because they aren't allowed to say pregnancy is pre existing.

Usually they'll cover pregnancy. If you have a long-term condition such as epilepsy or something that was pre-diagnosed, then they usually don't. I suggest you find out what kind of insurance they have and go to that providers website, they generally have a FAQ section as well as what the do and do not cover.

I'm not sure that's considered a pre-existing "condition". Seems to me that a "condition" means something wrong with you, while pregnancy is something "right" with you. Ask your employer.

I believe most insurance companies offered through employment do not have restrictions regarding pre-existing.... make sure your new employer knows and ask them about the insurance.

You need to contact the insurance company and ask how long do you have to be a member before you can receive pregnancy coverage. It varies depending on coverage plan

You'd have to contact that health insurance company to find out if they'd cover your pregnancy.

Pregnancy is isn't one of those things excluded by pre-existing conditions. You will be fine. Any questions ask your new provider.

Don't tell anyone that you are pregnant. And after a few wks. be like, "Guess what! I'm pregnant!" It will cover it. Now if you are like 3 or more months preg. forget it!
