coincidence!!! I live in the North west of England and while walking my dog every evening I look at the stars, for where I live the stars are not masked by light. I have seen countless 'shooting stars' but I have never seen any proof that God exists. It was just a coincidence. plus because you were asking for a sign you would have interpreted anything abnormal as the sign asked for, in short, you see what you want to see.

What a beautiful experience you have shared! You asked for the gift of faith and you were given a sign. I think God does these things so that we can look back on it and remember.
My experience was in a dream when I was about 13 years old. I had a dream I was extremely thirsty and Jesus came to me with a glass of water. I will never forget it even though I am 42 years old! Your experience was more then a dream, but I felt much the same exhilaration as I think you are describing. My wife also had a similar experience in her childhood. She often looks back on her dream and has kept the same feeling of inspiration when she thinks of it.
Keep praying. This is where you life of faith comes from. God loves you with an infinite love and wants you to know and love him with your whole, heart, mind and soul. Look to Christ and he will be your strength.

God reveals Himself in many ways. Rainbows are His way of getting my attention. He will use His creation and His Word to speak to us, about His love and plan for our lives. Keep lookin' up and in His Word, to develope your own personal relationship with Him. I totally get what you're talkin' about! It is indeed Amazing and wonderful at the same time. I understand about 'being a christian' and not ever having the real sense of His nearness. I see it a lot in the lives of others who are 'religious' christians yet do not know Him personally. He said of these, They have a form of godliness yet deny the 'power of God' in their lives. Don't get caught in that trap. Get to 'know' the Awesome Living God! as a close friend. Whether it's a shooting star or a fluttering butterfly passing by. Learn to see Him in All of His creation, Not as being in it but being responsible for creating it to 'Bless you'! Sincerely, Rose The more you look for Him, the more you will see of Him!

I went on a Spiritual retreat, not knowing what to think and still caught up alot in "self" but something happened. I actually felt God and seen God in the faces of others. For me it was the first time that I felt worthy of God's unconditonal love. I dont doubt one bit what you seen. I suggest that you hold it close to you, dont allow another' doubts become yours. What I'm saying is, Sing it from the rooftops because I know that feeling that you have feels great, but just stay strong in your faith. The naysayers will have you to believe that your feelings aren't real. Blessings to you

i have never had any such experiences with god
everytime ive ever asked for a sign he has ignored me
and i was so intent on finding the signs
if seeing a shooting star makes you think it was a sign from god--try asking again and see what happens
then youll know for sure
one random event does not equal god

I've never experienced the Jesus thing.
All I know is that there is one God - the supreme being - that made all things possible.
When I look up at the stars, or witness the sun rising on the horizon, when I see my child or my parents...I know that there is a creator.
That same creator made everything, including Jesus, you and me.
For me, one God is enough.
But if you feel that you need to worship someone other than God, well, that is your right.

There's not too much in this world that qualifies as a "coincidence" no more than you being at snow camp at a particular receptive time in your life. Cultivate what was planted there and God be with you.

Thank you for sharing this with us.
You indeed experienced a beautiful thing. Just think, now you will never need to ask for a sign again. Your heart will be open and you will know others Christians. I have never asked for a sign but I always ask him to guide my path. He is always there, He was just waiting for you to come to Him.
Don't let anyone spoil this for you. Satan loves to make you doubt. Never doubt the strength of God.

I was praying for a sign to whether or not I should take a certian job.....Just then I drove by a church and on their sign out front it said "If you are looking for a sign this might be it" I died laughing...and crying!!! God has such a sense of HUMOR!!! But it was AMAZING and the feeling I got from it!!

Growing up my mom always told me the following story:
When my dad asked her to marry her she asked God for a shooting star to tell her that he was the right guy. She always look and never saw one. One night my dad even took her to jones beach to see one of those comet storms that come like once every hundred years... except it started to rain and she didn't see any.
They ended up getting married anyways (obvi). And on the first night of their honeymoon she saw a shooting star. It was like God was saying, "you don't need a sign, just have faith."
