Are looks really that important?

I once fell in love with an "ugly" man. I say that because the world and my family thought he was ugly. He was handsome to me because I loved who he was inside. When I realized he had bad morals it made me fall out of love with him. But I couldn't imagine just one day waking up and saying, "Gee, he's really ugly," while I still was in love with him.

Well Love is a heavy and very vague word, and at the same time looks can be deceiving. But don't forget that we are mostly guided by our feelings before we do something.

I'll go with how I feel 'coz I believe that beauty is found in the soul of the person, unless if she is just pretending to be, and looks are just diversions as to what is really in stored for you.

I don't know if you could fall in love with someone on answers, but it is possible a few well written answers could make a favorable impression.

I guess the best way to get to know them better would be via email. I have some very close friends I have made here.

Looks are seriously overrated.

Having said that, I don't know that I could fall in love with someone I had never been with in person. Not so much to see if he is good looking or not, but there is so so much more that is communicated person to person, and that cannot, in my opinion, be communicated long distance.

A scent, a nuance, a silent smile, body language, intuition that comes only from personal contact. Not sex. Contact. A human connection.

Computer contact is not the same.

just my opinion!

If I was for real "in love" then it wouldn't matter to me. I have never been one to see a person from the outside. The people who have meant the most to me have been the ones who were intelligent, caring, and could make me feel at ease. That doesn't happen that often and when I come across I friend like that I tend to hang onto them.
PS I think I would exchange pics before we met IRL

I would have to say that if this is true, you fall in and out of love too quickly. Looks mean nothing. The heart means everything.

I don't think you can fall in love with someone on here. To fall in love with someone I feel like you have to see them and be near them. You can't fall in love with someone that you don't get to see or touch. I just feel like true love has to grow with you...you know...seeing each other, spending time together (in person), etc. You will have to confront them and just let them know that you made a mistake and don't know what you were thinking to fall in love with someone that you have never seen before. It's good to be able to look at someone in their eyes and know they love you, not by hearing them say it.

Honesty is the BEST policy. It is MUCH better to inform him NOW than before the other person has fallen for you so deeply that it's going to tear his heart out.At least THAT makes more sense to me than just leading him on and on for an extended time and then drop him.

The beauties become wrinkled and old, but the person of golden heart and good character only gets better.

You CAN take good character with you to eternity too!
