Like no other known planet, 98% of earth is made up of iron, oxygen, sulfur, silicon, magnesium and nickel.
Like no other planet, the earth is covered with green vegetation pumping mountains of fresh oxygen into our air and cleaning the atmosphere of harmful carbon dioxide.
Like no other planet, earth has an endless supply of oxygen-laden water, circulating in its streams, rivers and oceans teeming with self-sustaining life.
Like no other planet, the surface of the earth is a glorious gem in the universe compared to its dull and lifeless counterparts.
Like no other planet, life is found in every square inch of earth—even in Antarctica. One acre of farmland six inches thick is estimated to contain several tons of living bacteria, a ton of fungi, 200 pounds of unicellular protozoan animals, about 100 pounds of yeast and 100 pounds of algae.
Like no other planet, the earth travels at just the right speed in its 292 million-mile-long orbit around the sun. Too much faster and it would be pulled away from the sun and if too far all life would die. And if it traveled slightly slower it would move too close to the sun and all life would perish.
Like no other planet, the earth's rotation on its axis protects the life on it. If slower all life would die in time by a combination of freezing at night due to a lack of sunlight and burning up during the day due to too much sun.
Like no other planet, the earth sits perfectly in its environment. For example, if the moon were too close to the earth it would create massive tides which would erode the continents and mountain ridges making the earth flat. It is estimated it would then be covered with one and a half miles of water.
Like no other planet, 70% of the earth is covered with living water. The water acts as a heat sink absorbing the sun's energy during the day keeping the earth comfortable and gradually releasing its heat by night keeping the earth from becoming unbearably cold. Without the temperature balancing act of the vast reservoirs of the earth's water many parts would be hot enough to boil water during the day and freeze water during the night. Life could not exist.
Like no other planet, God's earth has a built-in thermostat. Just a few degrees change in earth's average temperature would result in most life roasting or freezing.
Like no other known planet, the earth's one mile thick girdle protects it from the heat of its molten core.
Like no other planet, the earth touts a radiation shielding ozone layer, without which life could not exist.

Like no other planet in "Our solar system?" Are we too assume that you have traveled to the ends of the universe and seen every single planet there is? Even if earth is one of a kind what follows? Earth is the only planet in the universe capable for sustaining this kind of life so what God exists? Not only is A unverifiable B does not follow from A.

Ok, so I'm in high school (portuguese 10º) and I'm studiyng the Big Bang, solar system and all of that. i'm 15 and i know that there is thousands of other systems in our galaxy, probably with more planets and just because your a stupid and ignorant skeptic and you don't know a quarter of the things that scientists (that devoted their lives studying this) discovered it doesn't mean that they don't exist. In our system is 8 planets, the man has been on the moon!!! I just think is unbelievable that is still people that think that the earth is the center of the universe (in case you don't know Nicolaus Copernicus and Galileo proved that was a lie in the XVI century)
The earth is an amazing planet, the only one we KNOW about , it doesn't mean that is the only

Like no other planet huh. So I am guessing that you have scoured the entire universe and found no other planet like ours. Or could it be that you are narrowing your mind to believe that all life has to be similar to ours in order to be classified as life. Or perhaps god could only create one planet with life because in his omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence, could only take care and watch over one planet at a time. He also only cares for one planet. Very typical human thought. Sounds similar to that of those who thought the world was the center of the Universe, or that the sun revolved around the earth, or that the earth was flat.

Well, if Jeff is making unreasonable excuses, then so would I because I would have said the same thing. We have not really begun to explore universe. Who knows what else is out there, what kind of planets exist, and what life those planets are capable of supporting.
As to our own planet being so nice to us.. it is a happy little accident, one that had just the right conditions to support life. If it was not, we would not be here to marvel over it.

Those claims are completely unfounded. We are only now starting to discover other planets and discover many of them. We have no idea what they are made up of. Several earth like planets have been discovered and they lie within a reasonable range of the sun to suggest that life could be supported.
All you have done is post a rant. It is a rant from the same website that claimed many scientists were leaving and denying evolution. You remember the post you made in the biology section. I tore it apart. The same sites that quotes old research, long dead scientists and even writers who took part in drug experiments with hallucinogens and then committed double suicide with their 3rd wife. See link below to your old question.
This site uses lies and deception to keep their "flock". Lies and deception are the tools of the devil for Christians yet you continue to quote this site!!!!!

One of the weakest philosophical arguments ever come up with, saying, in short, that because our planet is suitable for life it must have a creator. This argument is idiotic, if our planet wasn't suitable for life, we wouldn't be here having this discussion. There are billions upon billions of stars, we are the result of the law of chance played through billions of times. We hardly know the history of our own galaxy, and you're making claims about he Unvierse. There is almost certainly hundreds if not thousands of just as suitable planets for life in the universe besides ours.

Is there a point here or were you hoping to impress us with these statistics. First of all, I had a problem with your verse on "like no other planet." Science has recently shown that it is quite likely that there are other "earth-like" planets out there. With billions of trillions of stars and a chance of planets orbiting those star...odds are very likely that there are other planets out there will conditions similar to our own. The lack of mentioning these in the bible does not mean that they cannot exist...

You slip from "no other known planet" to "no planet": the two things are very different. Exactly how big is our sample size? (It's on the point of growing massively)
You ignore or are unaware of the implications of the anthropic principle (weak form).
You try to apply boundaries to the possibilities of life you have no way of confirming as valid.
All in all, if this is what convinces some theists, no wonder some atheists consider some theists as naive and overly liable to accept "evidence" without subjecting it to sceptical and critical thinking.
If they believe this, they might believe anything...

You also forgot, 99.9999999999 % of the universe is essentially unlivable to humans but then again, there might be other life out there, and million years ago no humans existed, 90-99% of all the specie that ever existed are now extinct, planet earth a few billion back was not suitable to any life.

There are billions of planets that we've never even seen. How can you think we're the ONLY planet in the infinite universe that can support life? That a very self centered way of thinking.
