Adds. Now people are free to do business whit whom they choose any where in the world. This spreads different cultures around the world, making people more aware of the differences of other cultures.

For once Dr Jello is partly right - global trade does provide links with other cultures, which is good. On the other hand it increases the use of fossil fuels in transport, which is bad. It also undermines local economies and social interactions which is also bad.
As fossil fuels become more expensive we will need to rely more on local suppliers and it would be helpful to begin builing local economic links in advance of that necessity. Local food production will be particularly important so my advice is to begin supporting your local food producers now. By doing so you will also be encouraging developing countries to grow food for their local needs instead of for export.

The end result of globalization would be one world government not beholden to it's people.
It is a recipe for tyranny IMHO.
