There are many dating sites, but there are no sites that are 100 percent guaranteed and safe. There is always some amount of risk when dealing with people online. As you don't actually see the person and you don't know anything about them, it's much easier to mislead you. Anyone can pretend to be anybody on the internet, so I would say, no, there's no way you can always be guaranteed safety if you choose to meet with strangers online or share information about yourself. I would be careful.

No site does a background check so you really don't have any idea who you are going to be meeting. Just be careful and email back and forth for a while before agreeing to meet or talk on the phone. Generally you can get a pretty good feel for who they are and what they are looking for if you ask the right questions.
