Generally it is a bad idea because if you date and then break up, you are stuck in a house with someone you really don't care to see that much. If you go out as friends, perhaps more could develop but until you really start to think of more in terms of marriage and possible future, dating and or sex with a housemate is asking for trouble really.

It is definately a bad idea to date a new housemate, because it causes tension in the house with the rest of the others and might cause a fight or argumetn of some sort and then that is where you problems start, you can be friends with her, and that might work out better until your living arrangements change. Even if you have not stopped, maybe you could keep it on the down low, for awhile at least. then when things get better then you can go at full speed. Maybe talk things over with her and see what she says. Then go from there.

Whose name is the lease in? Because if you and her break up later, you may have problems staying there. Or she may have. And if her name is on the lease she can tell you to go. Or if her name isn't on the lease she may decide to leave.

Just be aware of this. You can't help chemistry and if you think the two of you can handle the consequences if you find it doesn't work, then consider it. But consider all the consequences that might occur.
