There is a major lag with Sound in video in Vista Media center How can I Fix this?

What seems to be happening is that I have the sound coming into the computer on the Line in from my Satelite reciever. When I go to watch Live tv under Media center, I can see the show but there is like a 1 sec lag. Also the sound from line in seems to be coming from the speakers the entire time. Even when I play an MP3 I still hear it, but can faintly hear my MP3. Does anyone know how I can resolve this?

If you are using the Tuner Input exclusively, for both sound and picture, you should sinc up just fine. If you are sending audio into your sound card, that might explain the problem. It may also explain the second problem, particularly if you have plugged your input wires into the output jacks of the sound card.

If this doesn't help, repost your question and discribe exactly how you're connected and maybe even provide the model of your TV tuner card and your sound card.
