I had to re-read that question a couple of times as it sounded like your sister was married to her OWN brother! :-D

Being serious... My wife is my best mates wifes sister. i.e. we married Sisters. It freaked us all out a bit when we realised that the two of us would be Uncles to each others children

There are no legal, or moral implications in what you want to do, but you do have to think about what would happen if you broke up. You would still see each other and this may cause some heartache down the line.

Saying that though - I am a firm believer and risking your heart to gain another, so I would say: If you two WANT to date, then you should.

Good Luck, and don't forget to invite me to the Wedding! :-)

I think it would be fine, my sister dated and lived with my hsbands brother for about five years. Holidays were sure easier. They aren't together anymore but there are no hard feelings now, but it did kind of suck when they broke up because my sister has a daughter who was really young when they got together and considered him her dad.

Everything is settled now and my niece (my sisters daughter) still considers my brother in law her dad and goes for visitation with him and his new wife and everything is good.

I don't see anything wrong with it unless you have a bad breakup and it kind of messes with both sides of the family, but you can't base your life on "what ifs" so I say go for it.

Uhhh...some of you people that answered are a bunch of dummys that can't read a question, He is asking if he can date his sister in law!!! No relation, not incest, not even weird. Read my answer and maybe that will clarify things for those of you that either jump to conclusions or can't read or just want to give stupid answers based on being stupid.

He wants to go out with his brother in laws sister!!

You and your sister in law are not related by blood so it's OK for you to date. There have been many instances where two brothers married two sisters. Nothing wrong with it.

Do you mean your sister in-law married your brother??

And if that's what you meant and they are married...uhh NO, that's not okay. It's probably hard to hear, if you really like each other but if you guys want to be together, you need to sit down with your brother and talk to him. You can't just go behind his back about it. If they aren't in love, he should understand, but either way you've put yourselves in a bad position I think..

I hope that's what you meant. And I wish you the best of luck...

Your Sister married Your Brother and you want to get involved with your Sister.? Won`t your Dad be jealous? Maybe you should just keep dating your Mom. Maybe you could go out with your Brothers wife, or her Mom, then your Brother wouldn`t get jealous about you dating your own sister

Honestly, I think it's fine. Neither of you are related by blood and you and your sister would have just married siblings (if it went that far) - which is no big deal. It's not like you're digging on your cousin here! :)

I don't see anything wrong with you guys liking one another, all though you may want to give your respective siblings a heads up just to make sure that they are okay with it.

Are we talking going down the pub or getting horizontal and if you sister married her brother doesn't that make her still your sister? in which case getting to even first base is very very wrong

So in my fiances family his two cousins ( brother and sister) were dating brother and sister and neither were engaged or married and that was just wierd. I mean put yourself outside of the box what would you think. But in the end its your decision, you cant help you like have feelings for.

You might want to consider re-phrasing that. I had to read it 3 or 4 times until I realized that you weren't talking about incest. When you say "my sister married her brother", it sounds like you all have the same parents.

No that's disgusting. Find another gene pool to swim in, that one is already crowded with family members.

*Edit, glad you cleared it up. You're not technically the brother in law in this situation. The lady in question is only related to your sister by marriage. It would be fine if you started dating.
