1. ...was given... (has to be past tense)
2. ...has been grown...(again, past tense)
3. ...will drink... (future tense, better than will be drinking)
4. have been opened (just 'opened' implies they open, which they do every day)

1. was given

2. Is grown makes it a correct sentence, but it changes the tense. To use the same tense as the original, you need "has been grown". (Is grown sounds better unless there's more to the sentence.)

3. Again, the tense is different: "will drink"

4. Have been opened, because the restaurants don't open themselves.

Well, you exercise is in passive AND active voice so I assume you teacher would want you to use both.

1. Passive : was given

2. Active: grows

3. Active: drinks

**I'm guessing that you teacher wants you to switch between voices but I'm not too sure.

Passive voice with an implied Subject (the guy who opened the restaurant) so you would have to use been.

Example: Since 1786, many building have demolished.
>>> would sound off to you right? as compared to:

Since 1786, many buildings have been demolished.

1) was given

2) has been grown

3) will drink

4) have been opened

I think your teachers point is that inanimate objects such as restaurants or drinks cannot cannot name or open themselves so passive verb is correct. Peope (or animals for that matter) do things so active verb applies.
