I have seen so many christian, athieists, scientology, etc questions and most of them are slamming one thing or another. Why is your opinion more important then others?

Adam- to clarify I surely do not wish to proclaim my love for christ especially since I follow or try to follow the buddhist path. I normally do not ask any questions about religion if you read my question properly you would have seen I was commenting on the questions that I have recently seen.

It's not. Everyone is entitled to thier own belief. I myself am agnostic and when someone starts an arguement on beliefs I simply state the arguing is going to do nothing but convince me that you believe in something. It won't convince me to believe in it too. It usually ends it.

I think some people really feel they have the only 'right' answer and feel the need to 'save' others. Either save them from sin or save them from religion. I also think some people feel so badly about themselves they only feel good putting someone else down. I have made smart alec remarks on here a few times, but only when the questions were meant to provoke...ie "Why are all feminists.." or things like that. I guess I feel like, If you don't want my opinion, don't ask a question in an open forum. But I try not to offend anyone with my answers, unless they really deserve it.

Almost all denominations have some truth. More truth is better. Truth is constant no matter who states it. The final is the more sure word from the Holy Ghost. If you find someone having authority who will give you that , you are on the right track. As paul said ; Look for the good and hold it fast.

Because they all think they are right.
Atheists think religious people are living in the dark and should "start thinking rather than living in ignorance."
Christians think if people don't convert they will not go to paradise with God.
Personally, I think that, regardless of who is right they have no right to slam others' beliefs. Try to convince them they are wrong yes; but insult, no.

If asking a question and hoping for a civil and rational answer is slamming then I'm guilty but I don't think asking questions is slamming, people can respond.

But now you've brought it up, why not slam others beliefs? You've already rejected their beliefs and find their beliefs worthless otherwise you would be sharing the same beliefs yourself... wouldn't you?

Why have a Religion and Spirituality section if you can't discuss Religion and Spirituality? You want this to be a place only to "PROCLAIM YOUR LOVE FOR CHRIST" and not actually discuss religion, especially not non-christian religions.

edit- Then you're a Buddhist with a persecution complex.

Hello, Who Cares...:

One thing you will find in the Bible is God correction error. There was no atheists before the flood; in fact, they could see the cherubim guarding the gate, but they ignored Noah's appeals for 120 years.

Likewise, God continually chastised the nations that had apostatized, then gave them to Israel, but they deviated, too. God punished them Himself, then used other nations to occupy their land.

Christians began to kill others instead of drawing them "with cords of love." So God sent Muhammad to punish them, and that has been going on for over 1,400 years, and 1/3 of the Christian Roman Empire has been given to Islam.

God has told us this in advance. Read: "The Rise, Decline, and Death of Islam in Bible Prophecy" at www.revelado.org/islam.htm

Also, the fiasco Christians have made of religion is rectified in a last-day Bible code. See: http://abiblecode.tripod.com

Shalom, peace in Jesus, Ben Yeshua

People only slam things they don't properly understand...it's immature I know, but it happens. The best you can do is just ignore it if it happens to you and nobody's opinion is more important than your own, so don't change what you believe because of some ignorant fools who are just stirring up trouble

I'm a Catholic, but I NEVER slam other beliefs ... and in fact I actually believe that, in the end, we will ALL go to heaven. God is both TOTALLY LOVING and TOTALLY FORGIVING. God sent his Son (a part of Himself) to earth, and that human who was also God DIED on the cross for ALL of our sins ... the sins of those who were born and died BEFORE His life, as well as those who came after His life and death. I do believe in a Purgatory/Hell, but that is more like a 'closed in, hot, dry summer school' where they can learn the things they didn't learn while alive here ... and when we are in Heaven, we'll finally find out 'the rest of the story.'

Because their belief (Christians/Muslims) actively demonizes other faiths, homosexuals, bisexuals, athiests, secularists, agnostics, etc. Not to mention the continuance of primitive patriarchy, martyrdom, anti-education and dominionism.

No-one says my opinion is worth more, but I'm not going to lie down at take it. Christians spread lies about me and propagandize that I am 'morally' equivalent to a murderer, theif or rapist.

In most societies that is called defamation of character or slander. In Christian society it is called 'spreading the good news'.

In Islamic society, you had beware if you are gay or a woman who wants out of Islam and marry someone of another faith etc.

So, no, I am not responding because I think my opinion is more important. I am outraged that these people are thinking it is ok to do what they do to others.
