My parents aren't really Christians, they don't believe in it, nor were they ever members of the Church. But since I got to a Catholic foundation school I'm beginning to accept the faith and I really believe in God... I'm just confused about myself because this is a really awkward situation. Could I possibly call myself a Christian? And am I accepted as one in the eyes of God?
Thanks in advance!

If you have prayed repentence of sins and asked the Lord to come into your life as Lord and Savior. Then He is sitting on the throne of your life and you've been written into the Lamb's Book of LIfe. You are a Christian.

Only you can answer if you have from your heart done this. Baptism by water is an OUTWARD SIGN of an INWARD REALITY. It has NO regenerating effect. It's like a tattoo. You are telling the world that you are a Christian.

Now, baptism of the Spirit comes when you become a Christian. The Holy Spirit enters in and guides you as you read your Bible and He prays for you. Cool and weird at the same time.

That there is a God that loved you enough to die for you and provide for you so that you can spend eternity with Him.

The only requirement for salvation is faith in Christ as Lord.

Being baptized is a command of our Lord, and a public testimony to dying to your sins, having them washed clean, and rising as a new person - born again - in Christ.

To accept Christ and not yet be baptized may indicate an ignorance of the Lord's command; or that the baptism has not yet been scheduled. Baptism does not make you a Christian...faith in Christ does.

To claim Christianity, be aware of the Lord's command to be baptized, and willfully ignore it calls one's faith into question. Was this person truly sincere when they gave their life to the Lord?

Being Christian is ALL about entering into (accepting) the covenant of the New Testament for forgiveness of sin and salvation of the eternal soul thru Jesus, Son of the one true God.

Baptism is the public profession of faith AFTER accepting Christ in your life. Not before. Not instead of.

It really IS that simple.

NO, I do not thinkthat you could call yourself a Christian or a Catholic. You could be accepted by God into the Kingdom of Heaven, but John 3: 5 makes it very clear that Jesus commands us to be baptized. How could you call yourself a follower of Christ if you do not do as He commands?

right it somewhat is a rapid secret: all those people who are not truly christians, they are saying they are the truly christians and the different ones are actually not. it somewhat is a sort of issues that some atheists ask your self. if we've been given a consultant form each and each denomination and positioned all of them interior the stands of a stadium after which had somebody come out with a microphone and ask "which one is right? which denomination are authentic christians" then we'd in all possibility have a scene of you all beating the heck out of the different. the brothers who made the observed movies would have a wealth of recent textile for suggestion. the common atheists considers a christian as any western man or woman who believes in jesus and god. we actually do no longer look after accuracy through fact we count selection all your denominations as one: you all have self belief the comparable element and separate over the tiniest info.

If you are saved then yes you are his child. Baptism is a command to do, but it does not save you. We are to be baptized as a outward showing of what Christ done on the inside. Romans 6: 3-5

the word "Christ" means anointed. I believe that to be a Christian you must accept Christ's teachings. One of those teachings is that you must be baptized "in water and in the Spirit."

If you are under 18, I would suggest that you study the faith, that you associate with people that you admire. However, you must also honor your parents and not give them grief. Perhaps you could gently lead them to God.

I don't believe that Baptism in Christ has anything to do with water or any ritual containing water. It is a baptism of spirit. Therefore, yes, if you truly accept Christ as your savior and hold fast to his truth in your life, you can consider yourself a Christian.

Yes. Baptism is just a public declaration that you are a new person and that you are now saved and are gonig to serve Christ by bringing souls to HIM. GOD does say in the Bible that you should be baptised, however, it does not say anywhere that you must do this to be saved.

The act of accepting Jesus as your savior makes you a Christian. Baptism is an act of obedience as a believer.
