There are many many many battles yet to be fought. But the tide is turning.
More deportations have occurred in the first six months of 2007 than in the entire year of 2006.
Shamnesty and The Dream Act have been defeated--repeatedly.
States like Oklahoma and GEorgia have enacted legislation that has illegals scurrying away. So have cities like Irving TX and Hazelton PA.
The last few squirmishes have definitely gone to the anti side, no question.
The tide is definitely turning in the right direction.

Is there a 'war' on illegal immigration? I'd think there is a 'war' on LEGAL immigration, with illegals being treated better than legal immigrants who pay their taxes and respect the law.

That war is going at a very slow pace.
These illegals are still getting over the border very easily.
Once they get here its a free for all.
I think we need some guys on the border, like in that tommy lee jones movie ...."the 3 burials of melquiadas estrada" who whip out
ar15's with sniper len's and just take them out.
Its not happening fast enough for me, 1 in 3 people in jail are illegals.

Dream Act bite the dust.
Some States are getting tough on illegal immigration.
Border fence is being built.
we're winning the battles, but the war is far for over "all illegal aliens need to deport"

This problem has been in progress since the beginning of time.
The only thing that can be seriously done is to force South American countries to start taking some responsibility for the own citizens.
You go first. I'll be following right behind you...

No. Not so long as our socialist U.N. owned senatorial "representatives" keep introducing obscurely worded 'amendments' to unrelated bills which 'amendments' would legalize the illegal aliens already here and remove ALL restrictions at the borders.
No. We shot down DREAM, denying ILLEGAL ALIENS social benefits bought by CITIZENS. But that was a battle, not yet over, and not a war.
No. We shot down amnesty in several forms but again, battles not wars AND amnesty will be back again and again until we oust those anti-American 'representatives' who keep introducing it.
ATTENTION POLITICIANS!! WHICH WORD IN "ILLEGAL ALIEN" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

Yes, the new democratic bill to secure the borders. The Oklahoma law. Increase in deportations. Decrease in border crossings. ICE raids have doubled in 2 years. Defeat of the amnesty bill....three times! Things are looking very good.

I think we are and it's due solely to pressure from good CITIZENS like us.
On the bad side the dems removed the funding for the border fence in committee so those politicians still need a little election time education!
