my dog, because i love my dog and my boyfriend is capable of saving himself and findind a lifeboat, as my dog would probably run and jump of the side of the sinking ship. If there were no life boats and no escape for my boyfriend or my dog I would save my boyfriend because his family and friends would also be sad if he died not only me. My dog dieing would be only sad for me and he was going to die anyway sometime in my life time . and i can get another dog. but i really hope i never have to make this decision!

My husband is capable of saving himself, so I would have to say that I would save the dog.
Now if my hubby were knocked out cold and helpless, I would make every attempt to save both! I would hate to lose either. Hopefully I never have to make that choice, but of course the husband would come first.

Dog, I don't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend. (I am married though).
Greekman, maybe you should consider that some people have had their dogs since they were puppies and view them as children rather than pets in this regard. So I'd have to disagree with your sentiment.
