There is NOTHING about full frontal nudity or full nudity in the ten commandments.

in the story of adam and eve GOD WANTED HUMANS TO BE NAKED.

ONLY AFTER the apple, which according to the story, they were NOT SUPPOSED to eat, did they put on clothes.

yet it is christian groups the most that flip out when aging pop star's breasts pop out during sporting events, when someone shows a butt on tv or wholly natural nudity or sex in the movies.

christian groups flip out more from nudity than they do violence in america.

why? isn't this against god's wishes? god said "thou shalt not kill" yet entertainment violence is ok, god said nothing about "thou shalt not show the breasts of a woman" yet this is prohibited.

please explain the hypocrasy in this ameircan-christian way of thinking.

the children won't be scared (unless they are trapped in michael jackson's house) the parents will- that is what I'm trying to say.

even if later the kids will think it is improper, that is because the christian mentality against nudity in america has made it so.

And they always have a simpleminded objection that involves asking if you would go to the Mall naked. For some people there are no gray areas. Everything must be black or white. I think it was Pinter who said something about their not being able to differentiate between "what they smell and what they think about it."

As a Christian nudist, I don't have any hang ups like that. In response to some of the answers already given:

If I go to the Mall naked, will you shower with a wool sweater on?

Where does the Bible say that I am guilty if someone lusts after me? Jesus said if YOU look upon someone with lust in YOUR heart, then YOU are guilty! Sorry. The sin condition is yours...not mine. Again, scripture says a man is drawn into sin by his OWN lust and desires. God does not cause you to sin, and God made man in His image...and saw that it was "good".

God, did indeed cover Adam and Eve when they were exiled from the garden, but it was not an act of covering their shame. Outside of the garden, living under the curse, Adam and Eve would face harsh conditions and extremes in temperatures. This necessity for protective clothing was God's mercy being shown...even though they had sinned.

Perhaps some Christians should go back and read the Scriptures again. I did. I personally did a word study of the entire Bible for every incidence of nudity, and other than those references specifically related to sexual behavior, simple nudity was never considered a sin. Jesus was nude when was baptised, Peter was naked when he jumped out of the boat to run and see Jesus after the Ressurection. Jesus was naked when he washed the disciples feet. I could go on...but you won't believe me until you study it for yourself.

In a perfect world, which is what it was before Sin entered the equation, clothes were unnecessary. Because of Adam and Eve's Sin, God was the first to take life from an animal to cover the nakedness/sins of man. The fig leaves they sewed together were not good enough to cover them, so God gave them clothes made of animal skins.
What is your first thought when you see a beautiful naked woman? I am sure you are not thinking, "Oh look at the beauty of God's Creation!" There are more people who are not Christian in this World who prefer to keep their women covered up. Decent people across the planet from China, the Arab Nations, and other non-Christian places are very modest with that sort of thing. Europe is the least worried about nudity...and the modern Christianity came from Europe. They got burned out on it because it was forced by such things as the Jesuits, the Inquisition, and other arms of the Holy Roman Empire for several centuries. The Age of Enlightenment...called because people were given the freedom to think for themselves and pursue knowledge--the pendulum swung the other direction. Imagine that! Europe went from ultra conservative (on threat of death) to ultra liberal after Napoleon liberated them from Rome's overbearing rule.

He wanted us naked, BUT the problem was that when SIN entered into the picture, everything about our nature that was originally harmless was tarnished and had to have retribution made for it. Our nakedness became a symbol for the SHAME of our sin. This is why God covered Adam and Eve with the goatskins. It was to show them the need for their sins to be covered/removed and that it would take PURE blood sacrifice to do it.

Because the Bible says we're also responsible if we CAUSE sin. If I dress scantily or go naked and cause a man to lust, I'm guilty. (Although at my age, that's unlikely.) There is no hypocrisy in that and it's not American.

EDIT - TXNUDE: Paul carefully details that one must not practice a matter of liberty if it could cause another brother to stumble (Romans 14; 1 Cor. 8:9, 13).

It's the Law in their hearts convincing them they are lawless. They don't realize they are saved by Grace through Jesus Christ, who fulfilled the Law.
