The same reason no one else believes in it--it's hogwash plain and simple.

I think it's more a case that Christians do indeed believe in astrology (as a means of divination) but because of what it is, treat it as something to be avoided like the plague. It turns out that divination is seen as something possible only through the intervention of demons, and anything to do with demons is a no-no.

This is why it always strikes me as strange to come across Christians who don't believe in astrology.

And I just looked the subject up and found this possibly most succinct snippit: Leviticus 19:31 - "Do not turn yourselves to the spirit mediums, and do not consult professional foretellers of events so as to become unclean by them..."

Acts 16:16-18 is pretty useful in this context too; not only was divination recognised in the Bible, the authorities of the day took a dim view of anybody messing with their diviners.

People believe all sorts of things, and people disbelieve all sorts of things - no matter which religion they happen to claim. Our religious beliefs are often tinted with the prevailing wisdom of our times. Astrology is now considered bunk. It wasn't always so.

The bible speaks of the Star of Bethlehem foretelling the birth of Christ, for example.

If life is ever discovered elsewhere in the universe, expect religious understanding to expand to encompass the event.

It's simple really....The Scripture says, "Thou shalt have NO OTHER GODS before ME....." When astrology is substituted for God's word or when one attempts to amalgamate it with God's word, it becomes and idol or god that one worships! Taking God out of the equation of worship is as if you're saying, "I'd rather worship the creation (stars of astrology) rather than the Creator (which is another Scriptural no-no)."

No thinking people (Christian, Atheist or whatever) believe in astrology.
The so-called configuration of stars is only an earth perspective with no actual pattern

Astrology is witchcraft. Telling the future with the stars is witchcraft.
