I went to a work-related gathering Friday night and struck up a conversation with the secretary's husband, who is a minister. During our conversation he said various things like 'Peace out'... 'De-lish'... and 'Oh....... snap!'

Any thoughts?

Sounds like me, aside from "de-lish", ha.

And I totally trust me. But then, I'm not a minster-type.

Minister or no, many people find it necessary to adapt their language to those around them rather than the other way around. Unfortunately some do a really bad job. However, I think I would listen to what he had to say, no matter how distracting his vocabulary might be, and formulate my opinion on the conversation as a whole.
