I think if we hear someone saying something that is just flatly incorrect about Christianity, we should speak up. And I think it's ok to expect respect from other people. I think its ok to ask people not to be disrespectful of our beliefs. But, I also think that a Christian life needs to be more about loving others, and not about getting into confrontations. If someone is mocking god, that's something God can take care of with them. We just need to do what God calls us to do.

Everyone wants respect. I don't know if confronting and challenging people is the right way to go. I think we just need to keep on loving and caring and let Christ's light show. I don't think that challenging and confronting is going to do any good except for cause a fight in the name of Jesus. I don't think that is a very good christian example.

Well it depends on whether you take it personally or not.
If you feel personally affronted by someone's disrespect, I imagine you would want to confront them.
Some are more spiritually mature than others who get their ego wrapped up in their religion.
Also, I imagine if a particular faith is extremely conversion-focused, it cannot permit ANY bad or challenging opposing views as it would lose membership. So if you belong to one of those, you would have to spend a lot of time on damage control.

yes! We need to be equiped with Gods word, study, learn and listen. Many times when I have been in that situation the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart, and I am able to point out scriptures, and facts. Sometimes though there are people that will not change what they belive, there is a point when you have to just move on, plant the seeds and pray that they will grow.
As a christian we are supposed to answer thoose questions and know what the bible says. Its hard to argue with scripture. When Jesus and the disiples went all over to tell people the truth, they got cursed at, persacuted and argued with all the time, but they KNEW what the word said, and stuck to it. By faith and wisdom the gospal has reached millions of people!

We shouldn't be violent and aggressive in any way because we need to show the idiots that openly disrespect us that we actually are what we say are- Christians. People that love and worship God. If we start fights and start committing violent acts God won't be happy and we will make ourselves look like a bunch of hypocrites. But we should definitely stick up for our religion and correct people that make up a bunch of **** about our religion. But we should do so in a calm and collected manner. Christianity is a religion that people will openly hate because they know that we are east targets and we won't do anything to them. It's the same as Jewish people. People openly disrespect Jewish people as if they're supposed to do so. You should definitely speak up for Christianity though. If you feel that you're being disrespected, just simply tell them to not be so disrespectful. But make sure you're not rude even though it's so tempting to just tell ignorant bitches to GTFO. Just remember that God who we're sticking up for doesn't want conflict. God bless you.

Certainly, if they really feel they have a case, which to me would require some form of logic, not just a few meaningless chapters from a meaningless book.
I know I cant 'prove' there is no God, I know they cant 'prove' there is a God!
But I can at least state my case by asking questions which have some meaning, not with any implication that I can actually 'prove' my case.
What do we get in return? An absolute load of drivel which gives the impression they can actually 'prove their fairy story!
But by all means let the debate continue, when it comes to killing each other over it, or killing some one they think is not following the 'true' religion , I despair.

Confront and challenge are words that imply contention. Returning railing for railing should be avoided. Some "perfectly rational" questions are traps. This is the price of bearing testimony. Some are seeking and would be missed if we quit trying.

It depends on if it is confrontation with the same disrespect. We are commanded to speak the truth in love, so I don't think we should be silent, but we shouldn't beat someone over the head with our Bibles either.

Not as a rule, unless the "disrespect" involves physical harm.
By the way - Larry is a cucumber, not a zucchini.

I love your avatar, my 4 year old really likes Veggie tales. Anyway, if the confrontation seems to be fruitless the Christian should step back, there is no reason to argue with someone who isn't open to hearing, we should just love them.
