I went on a 3 day confrence in Chicago and while I was gone, my significant other must have called me 10 times a day. He called me in the middle of confrence meetings, called me when I was out to eat with co workers, called me when I was sleeping.
Now I am home. He lives 1 1/2 block away and he has totally ignored me. He quit calling when I got off the plane and tells me he is exhausted from work and slept all day yesterday, all nite last nite, all day today and is planning on napping before he goes to work tonite again.
He has done this same thing over and over again. He will start calling me tonite at work, but when I get home he will not call me again. Whats his problem?
I call him, but only once a day and usually when the whole day is tied up and I have something to say.
Its just ridiculous to me that I live about 1/10th of a mile from him, but he acts like I dont exist when I am home.

Ask him.

Maybe he is concerned that you are so far away and he couldn't rush to your side if you needed him.

Maybe he is afraid you will cheat on him.

Maybe he hates travelling and thinks you do as well so he tries to keep you company.

There could be many reasons why he does this, but give him a chance to explain himself. You can tell him that you wish he would be attentive when you are at home.

If he really is tired, let him sleep. But it sounds like you guys should have a talk.

You should try not calling him for awhile and do not answer when he calls you. Let him wonder what you are up to for a bit. When you get home he will be challenged in trying to see you. It all comes down to men like the chase. You be too tired, too busy. You have to remind yourself that you are a very busy person yourself! Try it you will see a turn around.

He calls you because he thinks you maybe spending your time with another man. When your at home he knows what your doing and when your home or who is at your house. When your away your not in his control. In reality he doesn't want you to date anyone else and he doesn't have to call when your home cause he sees you everyday whether you believe or not. Ignore all his calls when your gone and let him wonder. Don't let him have his cake and eat to...

I think that he loves you in his kind of way and thinks that when your gone your going too fall for someone else and leave him and that's his way of showing it and when your home he knows your close to him and he is comfortable with that and knows that your by his side.=]

it is the exact opposite. when you return, he knows you are nearby, that's comforting. he does not need to worry about you. when you were away, he wanted to know what you did and everything cuz he worried. that's the how guys work. some guys don't like to show you their emotions, but that little trip tells you he cares.

My boyfriend does the same thing. I think it is that they are wondering what you are doing and who you are with when you're not at home, but when you are, they don't think you are doing anything but relaxing at home by yourself. It is just bizarre!

it gotta be a sence of security, either hes insecure about your going out of town and worring if there is something going on, or hes just checking to be nosy,
hmm. that would get annoying.
