no, I in no way have given a thumbs down for undesirable grammar. Mine is particularly undesirable yet despite the fact that if i replaced into an English professor at say, Princeton college, i does no longer do it. I, like an incredible style of people, attempt yet only lack the preparation and skill or skill. i exploit spell verify, yet once you may no longer spell to commence with, what good is spell verify except you have some concept of what you're attempting to spell. As for grammar, my English papers continuously got here lower back finished of pink marks yet my recommendations (lower back interior the coolest old days) have been often sound. those days, nicely you ought to use this answer as an occasion of the place i'm at:-)

I submit that you're being a tad picky. SPEED is the big thing here. The first several to answer get the attention. If you are #65 to answer and are buried on page 3.....very few people will read your response. So people race through an answer to be near the top. Haste makes waste.

Correcting ones grammar is best done in private. Voting someone down is elevating yourself to being better than them. You really don't have enough information to determine from a misspelled word that you are in fact, "better."

Rather, vote on the quality of the response, the helpfulness, the ingenuity, the passion, and the appropriateness.

Just a thought.

Im sure your not, but you have to remember the site is about asking questions and getting answers, not checking peoples spelling and grammar. There are many dyslexics out there that cant spell or form sentences properly but it doesnt make their answers any less valid.

I dont.. I give thumbs down when the person gives a crap answer or doesnt answer at all but does it to get "points" like this is a game or something.

It would appear that "thumbs down" doesn't mean much, accept that the question/answer is removed from your view, or is this Yahoo Guideline out of date.

What happens when I rate an answer with a thumbs down?
When you give an answer a negative rating, that answer disappears from your view. Click the Show link to make it appear again. The answer is not actually removed; it is just hidden from your view. It remains on Answers and is viewable by other users. http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/ratings/ratings-95194.html

Make it a great day!

Why would you do that? There are many children in here too, which makes comments of people who cannot smake or simply make a 'mistake.'
Also how many thousands of people are not from america, and english is not their first language.
A thumbs down is for people who didn't post a good answer to the question, or simply because their answer is a violation to other people. Not just because they didn't spell things well.

well, I don't give a thumbs down for spellinig errors or poor grammar, probably because I don't do spell check and my grammar is poor because I wasn't native american...

I only give thumb down when the answer is meant, nasty or not respect to the quesitons or to others.

Or it is not nice or promote bad deeds. :-)

not everyone speak good english, or write great english, u know what I am mean.

ATTN: Big Daddy- The word is RIGHT not RITE.

That's horrible of you!
Your supposed to use the thumb up and thumb down buttons only if you know that the answer is not correct!!! Are you going to give me a thumbs down for using three exclamation points when i should have used one?? Shame on you

No I do too and what I don't understand is you have this nifty little tab right above the box where you type your answers that can point out and correct misspellings. Why not use it? People who slap anything on to the computer screen and send it off are just a little lazy. It's just too easy to fix!
