The tilers that I hired to do my hallway, in my living room, didn't finish the job. The customer service rep says he will finish the job, on his own time to make me happy. The tiles are paid for. 11 tiles, in a straight row, carpet is already removed. the last tile needs to be cut in half.

You already paid to have them do the job. So the FAIR price (to you) is $0.

My tiler figured it like this: $10 a square foot. With a $400 minimum.

was just sitting here eating my lunch watching these ridiculous answers come in for you.

I do all the tile work in my house, myself. Went out and bought a tile saw, and the associated tools. Its not an expensive hobby to get into.

How big are these tiles? You can rent a tile saw for like 60 $.
If you just have one tile to cut in half, you can get one of those tile cutters at lowes or home depot for 20 $ that scores the back of the tile and you snap them in half. Of course this may not be very affective on granite tiles. I bought a nice tile saw from harbor freight tools for 100 $. I just did a granite tile floor in my bathroom.
It looks amazing, I might add :)

For that little of a job, I'd just get the stuff and do it myself.
Sounds like these contractors are going to rape you on the price.
