There is always someone that is willing to pay more than what a gun is worth.
We collectors love that kind of person and even fight over who gets to sell them a gun.
I personally go by the Blue book but balance it with other Firearms Values books and then throw in what the local prices are. Some areas will buy any lever action you put up for sale and others only want bolt actions. You learn the hard way.

If you are lucky enough to run into a collector or someone interested in this specific weapon for his/her collection you may realize prices similar to those stated by USMC, but you need the right buyer.

As the saying goes, beauty, or in this case value is in the eye of the beholder. Best estimate of "Good condition" might well assume approximately 75-80% finish and mechanically sound would estimate at $550-650.

Go to Gunbroker.com or Auctionarms.com and see what they are selling for.

They sell for anywhere from $1000.00 to $1800.00.
Hope that helps.

OH... Don't go by Blue book just blindly. They figure those prices by what the gun was originally offered for and then depreciate from there. They don't take any consideration for collect ability or scarcity.
