Let me start by saying that I am not a "go to church" kinda Christian. I know that might make me a hypocrite, but I believe in practicing your religion (or lack of) in your own way. That being said, there really is nothing a Christian can do that an Atheist can't, except have faith in something greater than themselves. Sometimes Atheists ridicule any people of faith because of their beliefs, but for a great many people, it is hard work and mental discipline to maintain that faith. And maintaining that faith can be very rewarding. Much like an outsider can never truly understand the complete and absolute love a parent can have for their child, a non-believer can never truly understand the connection any religious person has with God.
So I guess I have a question then. What can an Atheist do that a Christian can't? And I do mean can't and not won't.

This is a dumb question. Christianity or any other religion does not give you powers and abilities others do not have. The only appreciable difference between Atheists and other religious beliefs is that Atheists believe in moral relativism while other religions believe in moral absolutism.
In a nutshell, other religions believe that right and wrong are dictated by God and do not change. Atheists believe right and wrong have no meaning except for whatever meaning suits the Atheist at the moment.
The only thing moral absolutists can do that moral relativists cannot do is justify living a good and moral life. Atheists cannot justify this. If you really do not believe that you will be held accountable for what you do in life, then you are just dopey to not live a life of pure debauchery. Get it while you can is the only logical way to live if there is no afterlife.

In my opinion:
Christians do not feel hypocrital when celebrating Christmas, as Atheist dont believe in Jesus so they must only be celebrating for gifts and conform for family.
Christians can pray for help and pray when they are scared. Some Atheist pray when they get scared and if their prayers arent answered they blame god,Go figure..
Atheist seem to still celebrate every holiday out there knowing they are all bible based and thats actually going against everything they say they believe. While Christians at least believe in them.
Atheist have no backing on their beliefs and Christians, right or wrong at least have the bible.
Im not a religious person, these are just some things that I get curious about knowing Atheist and Christians.

I am a christian and would love to answer this for you; however, the question is not clear. 5 things we can do where or religiously? There are a lot of things we both can do. Athiests can do anything Christians do worldly or in religion.
We can Pray to God - you can, but you wouldn't mean it because you don't believe in God
We can attend church - again so can you but you wouldn't mean it or go to praise God
We can have faith and believe in God
Read the bible
Celebrate the true meaning of Christ-mas
Get babtized
Take part in communion
Have eternal life with God after death - you won't unless you change and ask God to be your savior
There is a God and I think that deep down your people know there is. I really don't understand how you can believe in evolution, that the world and everything in it (as complicated and great as it is) just popped up one day. God will come back and hopefully for your own sake and your eternity, you will change you mind and have faith. He can only save you!

Hello!
The true Christian, I mean, people that believe in Christ Jesus and they follow their teachings (my particular case), we think that an atheist can make many similar things to the Christian.
Of course, the atheists will make the things according to the reason. We act with a supra-reason... I mean, the knowledge of the Faith.
My truenature explains to me that you can make the well and until miracles in the earth. But you will think: that is pure casuality, and I think that it is pure causation. Do I explain to myself?
You should not ask these questions. You would have to be present in a private rite of the "new life in the spirit" to understand what you don't know: how instrument of the will of God you can be. Perhaps be the only thing that an atheist cannot make, in fact because it doesn't accept the divine thing in his life.
I need to apologize my non grammatical English: I am Panamanian, not an English-speaker.
God blesses you!

I am not being mean or negative toward your belief, I just don't understand it. I mean there is a whole universe that God created and I don't understand how you don't belive it or see this. I ask you to look up the word "Laminin". Its the cells in out body that hold everything together like glue....in any picture you see of it, the cell strand looks like a cross...coincidense? I dont think so. You can't be alive w/o God and what he as created (you and me)....so Im not going to tell you 5 things you can or cannot do. You can do the same things as me, but your end result will be worthless when there is no middle ground between heaven and hell...you have a one way trip down a slide or up the escelator...its your choice to belive or not.

1) Live in peace with God.
2) Love and forgive others with the love of Christ.
3) Enjoy Christian fellowship with other believers.
4) Receive blessings from God.
5) Read and understand the Word of God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
6) Pray to God and have prayers heard and answered.
7) Go to heaven and live eternally with God.
8) Bury a fellow believer with the hope of seeing them again in heaven.
9) Raise up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord--give them values and Christian wisdom to help them in life.
10) Have deep abiding joy in spite of difficult circumstances.
Whoops, that was 10. I probably could think of others as well.

who are you to test someones honesty when you cant even be honest with yourself by admitting that your fascination with God keeps you RELIGIOUSLY in the spritual category everyday.. why do you fight against the idea of a high power that you supposedly dont belive in? What you do here everyday is fundamentaly hypocritical to what an athiest is all about ..if there is NO GOD then why do you constanly try to rouse argument with those of us who KNOW THERE IS A GOD
If you TRUELY are honest with yourself in your heart ,there would be NO NEED for you too even be here in this category you would be more interested in how to communicate with other athiest and try to figure out more ways to deny the spiritual truths that Jesus instilled in you as your body whether you like or not is His temple..a gift to you that you choose to abuse (or not).
Start by being honest with yourself evidently there is a war going on inside of you that keeps you here..and as I have commented you for the beautiful scenery of you picture that you display, GOD created for you to enjoy.
In the bible at the tower of babel God said let us go and divide the languages because unified (the humans) can do anything....that works both ways and yes atheist can do as much as Christians but is is God that will allow it whether you pay him any attention of not..We Christans however get a great JOY out of knowing WHOM WE SERVE. Praise God from whom all blessing flow and God continue to bless you with health and life ..something that none of us can gaurantee ourselves each day ..it is only the Grace of God that we are able to see another day!
sorry for the rant...athiest i welcome the thumbs down. You are all still very loved and precious in Gods eyes!!

1. Be intimate with God
2. Be the conduit through which God ministers healing and deliverance (I mean stuff that is miraculous, not 'time heals all wounds')
3. Experience the joy and peace of the Lord
4. Be led by the Holy Spirit so that your actions aren't just based on a set of rules (don't know how else to describe this) --- though in saying this, the Holy Spirit never leads us *against* scripture in any way
5. Reign with Christ after His second coming / go to Heaven (unless, of course, the atheist repents)
There are more, but these are five that come to mind at the mo. :) Item # 1 is the biggest loss in my opinion. The closer I get to Christ, the more meaningful 'better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere' becomes to me.
