The most preposterous notion that H. Sapiens has ever dreamed up is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of all the Universes, wants the saccharine adoration of His creatures, can be swayed by their prayers, and becomes petulant if He does not receive this flattery. Yet this absurd fantasy, without a shred of evidence to bolster it, pays all the expenses of the oldest, largest, and least productive industry in all of history

as an amateur astronomer, I have long recommended the hobby as the surest way to extinguish belief in a Christian sky fairy. When you look at the Andromeda Galaxy, for example, you are seeing it as it appeared 2.5 million years ago, when Homo Habilis was first shaping stone into primitive tools ...
and that's the NEAREST galaxy. The farthest is billions, not millions of light years away.
or simply seeing Io cast its shadow on the clouds of Jupiter ...
It's a humbling experience, but not one that in any way invokes God.

Yes I do. On top of that I think He is concerned with everything about you. The heartaches we have, the trials we go through, the joys we experience. You are His child and He loves you. You and I have no possible concept of how the mind of God works, consider a computer with literally infinite capacity and the ability to connect to every person in the universe and the ability to be compassionate and you might get a close aproximation of God's mind.
