probably because a rope made with hemp is the strongest rope made. too bad so many folks had to use it for other purposes. :-) You DO believe me right? If not---look up "hemp" and "rope" together. See what results you get.
With your dad's theory---we should probably try smoking okra, mustard greens, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, carrots and corn. Your dad needs to quit smoking his theories and try smoking one of mine. Let's see how far he gets with those. Perhaps he could make cauliflower illegal. YUCK!
;-)

I believe it has a purpose other than what has become of it being abused by people. Same with tobacco. I heard a story one time about a minister who grew a small patch of tobacco to use as an insecticide! He would crush the leaves up, mix the juice in a spray bottle and spray it on his rosebushes! Believe it or not, it worked! His roses were never blighted and grew very healthy and full. He said he discovered it by accident watching his grandfather dump his spittoon by a rosebush he had every day. That bush compared to the other kinds of bushes stayed lush and full, even in the hottest summer heat! The minister figured it HAD to be something to do with the tobacco juice and it turned out he was right!

There are many why did God created this or that! for example Pig. Jews and Muslims are forbidden from eating it. Why create a something and then forbid it!
Why did God create poppy flowers! is it so as to make opium! and smoke their life away! Ever wonder why!
I don't smoke anything. So, I don't know how it feels like to smoke Marijuana. God created it, and we the human brought to a level that is not good for us. and others use it medicinal.
The Heaven part. Never heard it. It could be that those who are taking it are rationalizing why they do!
My mother smokes regular cigs, and if anyone dares and told her that it is bad for her, and it may cause cancer. She gets so upset and starts reason that was false. She refuse to believe all the facts, because she wants to smoke.

Not christian, but I'm gonna answer.
Well, while I am pro-legalization. I also know that just because something grows from the ground, does not indicate we are meant to smoke it. Nightshade is all natural. Cow patties are all natural. You have to do the research, decide what is healthy or unhealthy. It is a matter for reason, not religion.

To be enjoyed and to be used for healing.
Christians who argue that it alters your mood and should not be used really have no arguement. Unless they are also against drinking alcohol, which the bible condones and speaks fondly of the "maketh the heart glad" aspects of it. Also many Christians take mood altering drugs in the form of anti-depressants.
What is needed with ganga is the same legalization and age limits applied to alcohol.
For those with the smoking poisonous plants arguement. I used to smoke cigarettes which is even far more poisonous and it is LEGAL.
BTW- Ganga is not poisonous when eaten in moderation. In fact, ingesting it is far better than smoking it.

Marijuana has been found to cure at least 3 cancers that we know of today. It cures upset stomach, migraines and a few other issues.
The THC in it actually bonds to dead cells in the body and in turn allows the body to flush them, preventing cancer.
Really only the west (America) are against it and that is based on lies fed out by a few organizations that are against it as it effects their profit margins. Oil guys are one. As hemp alone would put them out of business over night.
Marijuana has been used by man for thousands of years with its knowledge of healing. Don't be fooled by a few rich man telling lies so they can line their pockets thicker.
To those who are against it, ask yourself.. if its so bad, why did G_D mention it some 9 times in the bible?

i think it should be legalized... its much safer than alcohol....drinking alcohol is literally putting poison into your body... look at what happnes when ppl become drunk off alcohol....they are incoherent, beligerent, angry(some)...and not to mention, some drive that way..... and think of a time when you have seen ppl smokin weed...its totally the opposite... they are usually calm and relaxed... its the governemtn that has given marijuana such a bad rap... its completley natural... explain to me how the government can outlaw something that is pure and grown from the ground, and is smoked unprocessed, but legalize a toxic poison with all these horrible side effects?? it has to do with money and tax im sure.

When Adam and Eve sins, I believed that when all the drug like marijuana, opium, weed, and other harmful plant came into the world.
There is no proof except I believed that came into the world.
God never endorsed harmful drugs. However, because of mankind's sin that what we get in the world. After the harmful drug come before chaos and now we have drug lord and other anarchist movement including antiwar protest.

Was your Dad a hippie? I saw a hippie poster that read,
"Man made booze. God made pot. Who do you trust?"
Why did God make it? Well, the leaves are attractive and a nice shade of green.

Well I think those who do not love God and themselves are supposed to go high on marijuana until they they die and go to hell. So here they smoke and imagine they are in heaven because they will never get there so they want to get that feeling here. There are other plants also which are highly poisonous but also come from the ground; why dont they consume them also.
Don't let them deceive you into smoking the stuff. Remember it is the deceived who suffers most.
