I worked on the Romantica for a while last year.
The ship is nice in some ways, not being so "Carnivalesque" and the newer Costa ships are like the Magica and the Fortuna, but the stabilizers are not good, swings a lot.
I did a transatlantic cross with it from Savona to Brazil and around Madeira we had a storm, it really swung a lot.
And it was not that strong a storm.
Also, like any Costa ship, expect poor service and disgusting food, like Carnival.
But as far as the decor it´s actually quite in good taste.
And also its a small ship, which I like much better.

as my friend ocean.denis i also worked on costa romantica 6 yeras ago and I can tell you that for working is the worst ship I have ever had!
Also I wouldn t reccomend you to go ther as a pax, you have much more better ships in the same class like c romantica!
for example Thomson Celebration is in the same class but 100 times better and it is very friendly!

When we were looking into a cruise, we Googled the cruise ship name and the word norovirus to see which ships had a history of contamination and illness. Nothing like a raging fever and the trots to spoil a trip fast.
We decided to do a driving trip of California instead.

Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards, then "Costa Cruises". You'll find lots of info from people who've cruised that ship. If you click on "Reviews", you'll get reviews from pros and from past passengers.
