OMG. You like totally have to get Heavenly Sword. I mean have you like seen the advertisements for it?? They are SO SO freaking sweet.
Then again, Folklore sounds awesome too. Seriously, read this fabulous review:
An action/adventure game by Kouji Okada (the father of the Shin Megami Tensei series) that takes you through seven mysterious and yet Earth-like worlds. The game features two main characters. Ellen, a shy college student who''s studying comparative civilizations, receives a letter from her mom, who died when she was a child. The letter says "I want to meet you," and suggests that Ellen go to the town of Lemrick. There, she meets Keats, a journalist who handles the occult corner of a magazine. He receives a phone call from an unknown girl asking for help. When he gets to Remrick, he finds that the girl has already been killed, and decides to start up an investigation.
Assassin's Creed? Please, that is so yesterday.

Get Heavenly Sword without a doubt. I'm pretty sure that Assassins Creed will be great, but get Heavenly Sword first. Heavenly Sword is a awesome game. I've beaten it on Normal Difficulty and I'm at the end of the game on Hell Mode.
The only downside is that the main story mode in Heavenly Sword isn't very long, but it's still an awesome game.

Assassin's Creed, it looks amazing. Have a look at gametrailers.com to see what it's like. Between the other 2 I'd go for Heavenly Sword.

Assasin's Creed!!! u should see the trailers of it, I didnt like heavenly sword at all, if ur a person whos used to playing god of war, heavenly sword wont be impressive to u, Folklore is awesome, I played the demo of it from ps store, very interesting story line, great graphics and scenery. the game uses motion control to harness and pull out enemy spirits lol.

Assassins creed. It uses strategy, stealth, huge amounts of free-roaming and interaction with the environment, as well as a variety of brilliant weapons, all on a scale bigger than that of Folklore or Heavenly sword.

Unfortunately you are going to have to buy them ALL !!!
Each one of those games are must buys.
Heavenly Sword is like God of War PS3 style. The action is intense and graceful. The game feels like a your are in the middle of and epic movie!
Folklore is like walking around in Tim Burton's (director of Beetljuice, Nightmare Before X-Mas, Edward Scissorhands, etc.) imagination. The levels are incredibly artistic and creative. The whole game is a eery and creepy but uncovering the story of the town Dooling is addictive. You don't want to stop until the game is over!
Assassin's Creed has a lot of hype right now and looks like it will deliver big time. It reminds me of Tenchu, but next gen and more free roaming. I am very excited for Assassin's Creed and can't wait to pick it up on Wednesday !!!
You also have to get (if you haven't already):
Ratchet & Clank : FTOD
Dall of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion
Motorstorm
Warhawk
and of course . . . . Resistance Fall of Man.
Its an awesome time to own a PS3 ! Tons of killer games out now and they are all amazing!
Take care.
P.S. Gamestop has a printable coupon for 20% off used PS3 games but hurry because it expires the 15th of November.

Personally, I'd pick up Heavenly Sword. Actually I plan to do that in December when I get my PS3. Heavenly sword is an action game where you can use various combos to take out tons of enemies. Though, yeah the other person is right, that DMC does this better, actually thats why i plan to get Heavenly Sword.
It'll be like a bit of DMC lite, before Devil May Cry 4 comes out in february. (incidentally, DMC4, is the reason I am getting a PS3)

Folklore is a 'thinking' game, using your noggin to solve the mysteries.
Heavenly Sword is your general mass-murder-anything-that-moves, but is quite a short game (Devil May Cry did this sort of thing better)
Assassin's Creed is a bit of stealth, a bit of action and a bit of thinking, so a bit like Hitman Blood Money.
Personally, I would go for Assassin's Creed, but it's up to personal preference.
