Any business is first there to make money for the shareholders. If the behaviour of an employee is detrimental to this basic aim then the company has to take action to stop of modify that behaviour. This question is not a silly one I have had a number of employees who were under the impression that they were entitled to behave in a way that was beneficial to them personally but detrimental to the organisation they were working for and a lot of them were surprised and annoyed when they were corrected
