anyone ever use cling film on painting for effect and do you know of any other special effects such as for leaves and
rocks etc much obliged

Tissue paper is good for rocks and textures. Especlailly if its coloured. Tear it roughly and coat with PVA craft glue. Stick onto card - the larger the better. Build up layers, for more texture. If you want inspiration or an abstract move the card around to view from different angles to see what designs you can spot then you can paint over parts with acrylics or even home emulsion paint. Add a bit of sand to the paint for even more texture. Great fun.

Try salt and very wet paint for rock surface. Actual leafs pressed in the paint. or use a roler to put paint on a leaf and make a print.
