That type of girl is probably the same time who's expecting to be married when she's 20 and will then spend her life cooking, cleaning, and having babies....even more reason to stay away from them, girls looking for fast marriage are not to be trusted.

Is this from personal experience. All this "princess" bitterness!
If you invite a girl then you've made the invite and should expect to foot the bill.
If she's any kind of Lady she might well offer to pay drink bill or the taxi etc.
If the date is a sort of mutual thing then all bills should be split.
If it worries you that much about being taken advantage of in the first stages of dating, take her to the park or for a hike or something that won't cost apart from the cost of a soda or an ice cream.
If she behaves like a prima donna and tells you as much, I would think about ditching her anyway.

Not saying that it's impossible that the kid is yours but, a paternity test is a GREAT idea. If she lied to say she was on birth control, what makes you think she wouldnt lie and say the baby is yours. If she is crazy enough to think this would "trap" you she is crazy enough to lie about even truly being pregnant. There is only about a 20% chance of getting pregnant each cycle anyway so I'd say she got pretty lucky to have stopped b/c and gotten pregnant on HER first try. It takes most women a year before they can get pregnant after b/c. Only trashy warped GIRLS (notice I didnt say women) get pregnant to trap a man, not normal people. Live your life, if the kid is yours pay child support and have nothing else to do w/ her. I think we can assume you will be "wrapping it up" no matter what from now on! Good Luck!

It really doesn't matter what those of us responding to an opinion poll think. All that matters is what YOU think.
There are people who do believe in the "old fashioned" notion of the man paying for everything. When they date each other, there are no problems! It doesn't mean she is a stuck up little princess or that he is a desperate sucker.
If she is one of those traditionalists and you are not, it might be fruitful to have a discussion about how each of you think about the role of men and women in relationships in general. You might find you believe very different things and should go separate ways.

I am Diva, Princess & Queen......hear me ROAR!! Ha, ha......but seriously........I see where you're coming from and I am old fashioned to some extent by expecting the man to pay at least for all of the festivities on the first and maybe second dates as long as they don't expect that they get a "piece" just because they paid or it's expected.
I also think that when women fight to level the playing field and be equals that there is shared responsibilities for paying or deciding on the plans of a date after the first 2......like one night she helps pay for the movie tickets if he pays for dinner......at least split the difference it's only fair

It's kinda like from the movie "A Lot Like Love," it's nice to see a reach; the woman should definitely at least offer to pay every now and then.
The woman shouldn't think that they're doing the guy a favor just by showing up, they should think of it as their privelage to even have the chance to be with the guy; that they are lucky that the guy even gave them the time of day and they opportunity to even been seen with them... selfish greedy bitches!

If you invite the girl on the date, then you should pay for it unless you have come to some agreement otherwise before the date. In addition, if you don't like dating that type of girl, then don't. There are plenty out there that will pay their own way, they just might think you are not worth it as well.

I always paid for everything unless the girl offered. Once the relationship gets "serious" then things would start to be split...eventually incomes and bills get combined anyway.
If you've been dating for quite a while and she has never offered to help pay then that would be a concern/turn off.

I was raised to believe that the man was responsible for all the expenses when he asked out a girl. If she asks you that's a different issue.
Now to clarify- - if she thinks she's God's gift to mankind, my first date would probably be my last (but yes, I would pay for it if I asked, although the evening might end early)

Okay what the heck happened to chivalry?
If the guy asks the girl on a date... the guy should pay.
Edit: after reading some of these answers I have to say... since when are old-fashioned ideals a bad thing? The divorce rate was a lot lower back then, you know.
