Suppose my brother has cancer, suppose it is God's Will that the cancer should go in remission. Suppose no one, absolutely no one, prays for my brother. Will his cancer go into remission? Please start your post with a yes or a no.
If you answer no, (the cancer will stay) explain how a lack of prayer will stop God's plan. If you answer yes (the cancer will go away) then explain to me why prayer matters at all.

John M: You got right to the heart of the issue. Does prayer effect what God does? If no, then prayer is pointless. If yes, then I can think of many ridiculous hypotheticals which would make the 'no' position seem foolish.

Mike and Marji both say prayer has no effect on outcomes. So why do many Christians claim prayer has an effect?

adnilcomplicated, I made a requirement because I want actual answers, not waffling fluff. You don't know the answer, so apparently you don't know if prayer is necessary or not to determine outcomes. The rest of your post is waffling fluff.

BB: "Whither or not if he is made whole or healed or in remission, however you want to call it is according to your brothers faith in God.
....
Cancer is a powerful demon and needs someone of strong faith to pray for him."
WTF? That's a blatant contradiction.

Yes. Our prayers do not influence God - they are a way of Him involving us in His work - opening our eyes to what He is doing around us.

God is sovereign - this means he already knows if and when and what will happen to your brother's cancer. The amount of prayers, or if anyone prays for your brother at all will not change what God's will is. Prayer is good at anytime, but God's will or plan is not contigent on any works by his creations.

You are asking a question and, basically telling people in what form they should answer. I honestly can not say yes or no. I know that it is Gods will for all people to be in good health.
Not all diseases are organic so to speak, some come from generaltional curses. which is a sprit...Prayer is very important it aligns us with our creator. The laying of hands from believing Chrisitans, upon a person that is ill is also very important. because as Christians we have the same power inside of us that rose Jesus from the dead, and we are to lay hands upon the sick. so prayer and the laying of hands are both important.
we all will die one day. its just a matter of time. its a human condition.

It is not God's will that anyone should be sick.
John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Because of sin sickness is in the world.
Whither or not if he is made whole or healed or in remission, however you want to call it is according to your brothers faith in God.
Matthew 9:29
Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Prayer does help but it is according to your brothers faith. Even Jesus did not heal many folks because they did not believe.
Matthew 13:57&58
57And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Cancer is a powerful demon and needs someone of strong faith to pray for him.
Matthew 17:21
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

yes. your supposition, "it is gods will" provides all the information necessary to answer your question. The fact that some people think your supposition is utter nonsense does not detract from the certainty provided within it.
Unless of course it is also god's will to change his will based on the lack of an appropriate amount of prayer. then your brother would be screwed if you forgot to pray for him.

Those who put their trust in their physicians will make out a hundred times better than those who put their trust in prayer .
If you want to pray , in addition to having a good doctor , go ahead and pray . It won't do any harm - - - or good .

No....But it's not that easy to answer this question.
Please don't set yourself up this way. This is a medical problem and it is physical in nature. It is a bit murky to apply God to results of physical problems that we might have in this life time.
But, nothing is beyond his will to accomplish.
