I intend to connect it to a HD ready TV which does not have HDMI input connection and only has composite and component input connection

Nope, your component output will be 720 horizontal by 480 vertical. It's really not a big deal. HDMI upconverted regular DVDs are still only 720x480. The machine won't add additional information that isn't there, it just sends it down a 1080 pipe. In fact, think of it like a water pipe. The same amount of water is travelling regardless of the diameter of the pipe.

Before I get blasted by other posters, yes, an upconverted signal looks a little better, but like I said, it's really no big deal.
