I just got a 40 Gig PS3. I mainly got it for the Blu-ray and it's awesome. I also got Ratchet and Clank since i heard a lot of good things about it. But after playing through a few levels, i went to my dashboard and looked around a bit. I noticed that the game took a whole 477 Mb on my hard drive. That's on top of the 1337 Kb that each game save takes. Do all PS3 games take up half a Gig of space??!!!? Or do some take less...or even worse...more?!? thanks for the reply.

PS3 games do take up a lot of space, especially the PS3 exclusive games because those games are the most largest in size. On my PS3, Lair takes up over 2000kb and Heavenly Sword takes up almost 4000kb!!!

40GB of hard drive space really isn't that much space to me because PS3 exclusive games are very huge in size and detail compared to the games that come out on the 360 and PS3, so the games will take up a ton of space.

You might need to buy a larger hard drive eventally.

Don't over-exaggerate. Sure it shows that much Mb but everything in the PS3 shows a lot of space although nothing really happens. I mean a 2 minute video was 200Mb! Ignore it. 1/2 a gig is a lot to the PC, not really a lot for the PS3.

Some take more, some take less. Obviously there are going to use a lot mmore memory than PS2 games, but half a gig is slightly above what i would say is the average. But if you've mainly bought it for the blue-ray, you won't be playing a lot of games...

500 mb is half a gig.

2000 kb is 1/5 of 1 mb.

PS3 save take up no space at all. You just have your memory letters confused.
