If athest say they are not a religeon then why come to the R&S section? No bashing please, I'm just curious and thought I might get an understanding as to why. I have not been on R&S much but the little bit I have has seem to be very negative toward people like me that love the Lord. I never bash someone because they are not like me but I have hesitated to ask questions here because I have read so many hate answeres toward christians from proclaimed athest.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying all athest and I know that a few bad apples and ruin the whole bunch because it's the same way with christians. Have I just been on when the few bad apples were here or do most athest really truly not like us christans? And if it has just been the few bad apples, boy I sure hope there not on right now so I can get an educated answer.

Thank you!

You have every right to feel that way!

In every garden, there are a few weeds. Those weeds encourage new weeds to grow. No matter how rich the garden grows, the weeds will thrive and spoil the rest of the appearance of the garden.

It is up to us, as Christians, to accept the weeds in our "garden" and encourage them to grow positive blooms. In other words, we are to set good examples of life character in order to deliver them from evil. To grow fruit and flowers that will give positive things to others, not negative. They actually think that they are fine and living to life's fullest.

Until they find Christ and live for Him, they have not even been born yet. And so, they have not been living life in the fullest. Pray for them, ask God to soften their hearts and open them to let God's love inside. They are screaming for love and attention. They will be the greatest servants of all when they turn over the new leaf!

This question has been asked many, many times. There are several reasons atheists answer questions in R&S:
1. Questions in R&S are shown in Society & Culture, and in the Main answer page, so "interesting" questions can catch our eye there.
2. Many of use do not want your or anyone's morality to become civil laws. Take a look at Islamic countries for a good example why.
3. Creationism is not science and it should not be taught as such.

Just because someone is an atheist does not mean that they do not have knowledge about religion. Take me for example. I was a Christian for over 20 years. I know the bible inside and out and I also have studied many other religions. Christians are not atheist but some have knowledge about science or other interest.

atheism is a religion of sort. it is a belief in nothing. they cannot truly claim to be "true atheists" or "pure atheists" because the definition of atheist is lack of belief in God or gods.

Who Are Atheists? What Do Atheists Believe?:
There are a lot of misunderstandings about who atheists are, what they believe, and what they don’t believe. People become atheists for many different reasons. Being an atheist isn’t a choice or act of will — like theism, it’s a consequence of what one knows and how one reasons. Atheists are not all angry, they aren’t in denial about gods, and they aren’t atheists to avoid taking responsibility for their acts. It’s not necessary to be afraid of hell and there are advantages to being an atheist.

I looked that up on a website that defines atheism and thought it is a more appropriate look at atheism. You are right, not all atheists are "angry" or "hateful" they just choose not to believe.

As a Christian, I don't mind the comments of others. It makes me think and dig deeper into God's Word to see what He says. Remember, we are not of this world, we are just pilgrims. We are always going to be talked about, persecuted, laughed at and thought to be crazy. I would challenge you to listen to what is being thrown your way and research, read, and pray.

Too bad there is no way for us to take away points when someone asks a question that is asked EVERY day. Is it just because they are too lazy to look through the previous responses?????

*BEWARE. THIS MESSAGE CONTAINS STEREO TYPES. DO NOT BE OFFENDED*

Everything in America has to be labeled so the dum-dum's don't kill themselves...

No doubt I could explain it with science filled facts (I think electro-magnetism is the force we're looking for-either that or the S.T.R.O.N.G. atomic force.) but you would explain it with god. Well done.

We like to debate.

I'm also looking for a name for my spiritual group. ( I'm only 1/3 atheist-Sorry!)

We like to debate. Good scholars like to debate. As scientists we are driven to find the meaning, so when Religion says they have it, we come flocking. When we find out it's BS, we start clawing at your eyes.

Same reason people watch the discovery channel when they have no intention of going to Africa themselves.

It's fun to see the monkeys throw poo at each other. ;)
