I am an Evangelical Christian, but do not believe the world is coming to an end.
I believe the world as we knew it has already changed.
We are already living in the post-apocalyptic age, with the prophecies of the Book of Revelations fulfilled and behind us.
Now we have to look to the future.
What would you call that type of belief?

Not in accordance with Evangelical Christianity. The bible is quite clear that this world will end. There are a great deal of prophecies of Revelations (and several other New Testement books) that are quite explicit and under no interpretation could have been fullfilled yet. I would gladly cite them for you however they are numerous enough and so easily findable iis difficult to believe that you have ever actually read the New Testement, or that you even really believe what you claim to (be a "Evangelical Christian" that believes we are living after the coming of the end of the world as predicted by the bible). It's an interesting idea for a B-grade movie (that hollywood would probably love, since it has an ongoing love affair with distorting Christian beliefs anyways), but again, is difficult to take seriously.

I also believe much of Revelation has already happened. And when one really does the research they also know it.
Nero was 666 and much of the persecution and the great tribulation was involved with the early Christians-IE thrown to the lions etc.

I do not believe the earth will be destroyed yet I do believe Jesus will come again and judge. Satan also knows this. Remember when the demon asked Jesus (paraphrased)-'are you going to send us to the abyss before the set time?' So I believe not all of revelation has happened but most IMHO. I do not believe in a 'rapture' as in people left behind.
I'll be watching to see what this belief is called since I too am like you mostly.

I would just want you to look at REV 21:3-4.. It shows that death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. I don't see how this is fulfilled yet...

I would suggest that you study with one of Jehovah's Witnesses to find truth about the Bible and Jehovah God.

Hope this helps you

I would describe that as a preterist view:

http://www.preterist.org/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preterism

This view is that Revelations is complete and was about current events of the time. I hold this view to a point.

I do believe in a future and earthly kingdom that will come when the time is right...

you could be right, but i'd be sorry that i missed the 2nd coming. must have been really subtle, not quite the sheep and goats sorting that i imagined.

why do we all need to fit in to a category of believers?regardless of your personal beliefs, tolerance for all religions is the key.

i'm a RC, which is traditionally conservative, but my personal beliefs are much more liberal. i.e. do i believe everyone who is not roman catholic is wrong and going to hell? of course not. i don't think Jesus does either.

whatever you want to classify yourself as, just be sure to do things as Jesus would have wanted (follow his actions in the new testament). i think you'll be on the right track that way.

Digital,
John's writings were for those of his time. He was writing to encourage the Roman Church members who were being fed to lions, tortured, burned alive and killed in front of their families. He wrote in that style so that the Roman guards would not understand the writings but the church members would. He was held captive during those writings on the Isle of Patmos and was under constant guard by Roman soldiers until his release. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

I additionally fought to maintain the guys 5 meters or much less to my proper and left alive and myself as properly. in case you're taking one look on the countless questioners in this website, you may in no way even help lots of them to proceed to exist a rain typhoon, not to show a conflict. I save information with my fellow veterans and with the greater youthful adult males and females people who've additionally chosen to connect the army to assist and guard that Consitution. As for something, i'm satisfied to make certain the returned of them.

Not quite sure, but it does not line up with the basics of the evangelical movement. It is indeed an interesting concept...what are your Biblical proofs of this?

The Bible is quite clear that Christ will return in person to judge the world. The heavens and the earth will be destroyed by fire and God will re-create everything new.

So I'm afraid I'd have to call your belief ... wrong.

I would call it new-age thinking and wrong according to the Scriptures....

Christ is coming back to make all things new.
Scripture is crystal clear on the fact that this earth will be burned up in the fire.
