It is natural to feel a bit scared in a new environment - you haven't been out there all that much, so it is still new to you. Someone suggested you call your bf, but I advise not to. You don't want to pester him at work - it might get him into trouble. I think you just need to know the house a bit more - take time to just enjoy the solitude. Only a mile off the road does not really qualify for being out "in the middle of the woods," trust me on this - I grew up in the woods, so being a mile off the road is nothing. Perhaps you can take a walk around the grounds - don't get lost or anything, but if you have a driveway that you can walk, walk it. Walk around the perimeter of the house too - get to know it. You will become comfortable with the house and your surroundings only if you allow yourself to be.

Where are the sisters? They are almost as old as you are and you three should be able to figure something out. Old houses make all kinds of noises. Put on some happy music turn all the lights on, play with the dogs and make some popcorn. Don't sit around scaring yourself by listing to creaking noises, its simply the house not something that can hurt you.
