Thanks for reading my question!
My cat is a sweetheart. She just had a litter of 7 kittens (two little girls and 5 adorable boys). Well, it seems like she's having a hard time producing milk. I talked to my vet and he advised me to put her on some wet cat food.
Here's the few problems with that.
1. With the recalls going on lately I'm afraid to feed my baby anything bought in the store. Not only is it for her safety, but the safety of her kittens.
2. I'm not able to drive to the store to pick some up.
3. My pay check doesn't arrive until the 20th.
Unfortunately I'm financially challenged right now. I barely have food for myself.
All I have is eggs, milk, liver sausage (braunshweiger) , bread, and almost every veggie on earth.
What do I do? Any websites or recipes you can share with me and my babies?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks everyone for your help! I did have dry cat food in the house... some of you thought I wasn't feeding my cat at all, I am. She's been eating the dry food and she had wet food for a while but my water heater broke and I needed to buy a new one which took my whole pay check.
She's been eating wet food up until this week.
Luckily my friend came through with about 14 cans of wet food for me, thank god for her.
Per my vet's request we mashed up some kitten food into her wet food.
It worked about 20 minutes after she ate she was feeding her kittens like normal.
Thank all of you for your help, especially those of you who were not judgemental.

FYI, my cat was still a young cat. We scheduled her spaying appointment a week after we got her and when we went in for the surgery they told us she was pregnant and I can NOT abort young kittens.
So I was not being negligent she was pregnant when I got her and I just thought she was fat.

Just be sure her meals r balanced. Only one group of vitamins and minerals will not satisfy her meals, especially now when she has to feed the babies. Lots of kisses to u, the kitty and the kittens!

Like others have said, unless you have a proper recipe and ingredients you are much better off feeding something from the store. If you are really financiall challenged then get them kitten formula dry food. Yes, there were recalls but things should be ok now. Do you have any cat food at all in the house right now?
If you can afford better food later, please consider a canned food that doesn't contain wheat, corn, rice or soy.
And can you get your cat fixed so you don't have to feed so many cats in the future?
I hope things improve
edited to add, thanks for the details! I'm glad you have some food on hand and that a friend was able to help out. If you want some feline nutrition info see www.catinfo.org
Good luck!

I find your question intriguing because I just might have a solution for you.
I have been home processing my own cat food for years now and my kitty (an old Silver Himalayan Persian ) loves it. However, he also wants her dry food as well. Yes, she is spoiled!
The process is quite messy, and if you have a squeamish stomach it may not be for you. I get a 1/2 a beef liver ( a full one is really big, that is if it is a big cow) and about 2 hearts from the people that I know that run a slaughter business .
I cut the liver and heart into small chunks and cook them in a large kettle . I put just enough water in the pan in to cover the heart and liver blend. Raw liver is really bloody so cutting it up is kinda of a bloody mess but the heart isn't too bad. You may want to start out in a smaller process using smaller portions, but I make enough to last a while.
After the heart and liver mixture is thoroughly cooked, (I bring it to a boil and them turn down the temp.and let it simmer until done.
After it's cool, I take out the pieces (save the broth in the pan) and then I run them though a meat grinder. When that's all finished, I pour some of that saved broth into the ground up mixture to make it into a paste (canned cat food like ) consistency . Then, I put them into individual kitty servings ( like small plastic containers) and store them in the freezer.
If you like this idea, and have any other questions feel free to send me a message. You can probably get l raw livers and hearts from a slaughter house or at your grocers meat department , if they have any scrap meat. Organ meats, like livers and hearts and the like are really good for your kitty.
I also make my own home made bird food for my doves from the beef fat (suet) that comes off the kidney area of the cow. That's the best portion of fat from the cow.

Oh dear. This is not good. Mother cats need plenty of suitable nutrition and the things on your list won't due. Cats need, for instance, taurine which is gotten from heart muscle, thus they must have heart in their diet if you cook at home. Cats are 100% carnivore and they cannot and should not eat grains, veggies... in fact any kind of carb (which, actually, is WHY people choose to make their foods... to give them better nutrition more appropriate to this species). Those carbs convert to sugars...something a cat is not prepared to deal with physiologically.
Contact a rescue group near you or a shelter and see if they have any cat food to give you through this time. Making the food, given your situation, won't work.
I am sorry you are having such difficulty.
itchmo.com is a great source for food recalls and you can sign up to receive auto messages on recalls.
Here are a couple good sites to read:
http://www.thepetcenter.com/imtop/catsaredif.html
This site, in particular, gives specific info on homemade foods and I have the highest respect for this vet... I make my own cat foods (she feeds raw) and this is the recipe I work from.

I am sorry for your situation. Why isn't this cat fixed?
The only receipe is using meats for a raw food diet so that is more expensive. Cats are obligate carnivores so nothing you have there will do it They need meat. Do you have meat baby food with no onions?
Also, your cats should be on wet foods anyway for many health reasons
As far as recalls, there was just as many dry foods recalled for cats as well as canned. fancy feast a middle grade food has not had a recall
Hope this helps

The recalls had nothing to do with cat food.
I used Purina for both my cats lives and they lived to almost 18 years each! When I was strapped for cash a can of tuna fish will supplement until payday.
The liver sausage is too strong I don't think your cat will touch it.. they can have the yellow part of the egg NO WHITE it will make them sick!
Try and find a friend that will get you food for your cat and you can pay them back on the 20th.. if you give your cat the wrong foods for too long they will get sick and she has a litter to feed!!

You risk doing serious damage to those kittens if they don't get a proper kitten diet. Most of the food we eat is unsuitable even for adult cats, and unweaned kittens are very fragile. They need taurine in particular, and I doubt they'll get it from any combination of the foods you're talking about.
PLEASE get them some proper store-bought kitten food. If you can't afford it, you will have to give up at least some of those kittens.
I don't know what you feed their mother, but are you sure her inability to produce milk is not down to malnutrition at your hands?
