I have this temporary fillings in one of my tooth (the nerves being put off) I suppose to go back to the dentist within 1 week, but its been 2 month n I still haven't go back there .

My question, will it be dangerous to leave my tooth with temporary fillings for so long? I didn't feel anything so I guess its ok? .....

You have been lucky that such a good job was done that you still have it. When you do feel something your next visit will be probably be alot more costly. Sorry to say.

The temporary filling will leak and the tooth will decay more rapidly. Lots of people have lost teeth that they never had the tooth treatment completed because "it didn't hurt" If the dentist has already partially removed the nerves, you won't feel anything. If the dentist left the nerves there, he used a temporary that numbs the nerves so that you wouldn't have alot of pain until you get back in. Schedule to go back and finish the treatment.

Some temporary fillings can be left for more than three weeks. It depends. Temporary fillings tend to form something called secondary dentin over the exposed surface of the pulp camber, which covers the free nerve endings thus helps in decreasing the pain! But temporary fillings tend to become weak after sometimes ,due to saliva and fluids we take, so there is a chance of reinfection and irreversible pulp damage, which may land you to go for root canal treatment. Root canal treatment is expensive! So it would be better to go for permanent filling.

Yes-because temp fillings aren't made to last too long. Once it falls out, you'll be back at the dentist again. That's why they call it temporary.
