I wan't to build cabinets to sell, but MAME is freeware and you can't sell it, so what other options are there?

It seems for it to be legal to sell, I would have to buy the emu.

Their are a few options and ways around some of the legal stuff.

1 you and build a arcade cabinet and all the hard ware and software installed and sell that, hence selling an arcade cabinet ready for the customer to install their own Emulator or third party software. Their are more than just MAME emulators running in arcade cabs. Also plenty of front end programs that allow for the selection from multiple arcade, console, pinball, and Jukebox emulators. The price point would be the same as being able to sell with the emulator already installed because Yes It is freeware the customer can get themselves.

2 you could wire the cabinet using a JAMMA wiring harness and connect a MultiJAMMA board. http://www.multigame.com/jamma.html Then install real JAMMA boards for them to play.
**ALSO** JAMMA wired cabinet can connect
19-in-1 Classic Horizontal MultiGame Collection
60-in-1 iCade Classic Arcade Multigame JAMMA PCB
173-in-1 BabyStar Multigame Horizontal JAMMA PCB
465-in-1 BabyStar Multigame Vertical JAMMA PCB
1066-in-1 Games Family Multigame Horizontal JAMMA PCB

3 you can connect standard console systems to a cab (WII, Xbox, PS3, ect...)

4 There are plenty of other options that are PC based (like the classic Lazer disk games) that can be found.
