I'm calling her Ada, After her grandma, but i can't think of a middle name that goes with Ada..! I would prefer a middle name with one sylable.
Her last name is Stubbs.
I Quite like Ada Skye Stubbs But look at the initials!

I know its old fashioned, thats why i CHOSE it lol. I can't do anything about the old fashioned last name either lol. I went through loads of modern names like Madison, McKenzie, Shauni...But they didnt really stick, but Ada has stuck in my mind.

Ada is gorgeous! A classic beauty I've always been quite fond of, both on its own and as a short form of Adeline, Adelaide, Adela, Adelia, etc. Simply lovely ... and the personal meaning behind it for you makes it all the better. ;)

I wouldn't let negative comments about it actually being a name with some history, rather than a recent creation or otherwise-trendy choice, sway you in any way. After all, the obviously similar Ava is currently a top-ten! I seriously doubt anyone will bat an eye at Ada! LOL That's just not logical.

I'd personally think a longer middle name would offset short, two-syllable Ada and your single syllable surname, Stubbs, quite nicely, but I'll list a few one-syllable options first, since you mentioned preferring them.

Ada Rose - very common choice at the moment, and the S sounds run together (even though this one's a Z ... still sounds like Ada RozStubbs, if you follow).

Ada Grace - ditto the S issue mentioned above, plus the similar A sounds in both the first and middle.

Ada Jane or Faye - just the repeating A sounds, which I could deal with if you loved a certain combo. Ada Jane is still sweet. ;)

Ada Pearl

Ada Claire

Ada Kate or May/Mae - repeating As again. Also common choices at the moment. Many of these are today's Lynn, Joy, Anne, Dawn, Marie, Nicole, Renee, etc. fillers (many of which are also one syllable, so there you go).

Ada Fawn

Ada Fern

Longer options that still might appeal:

Ada Mary
Ada Margaret
Ada Eleanor
Ada Lillian
Ada Beatrix
Ada Catherine
Ada Caroline
Ada Elizabeth/Elisabeth
Ada Gwendolen
Ada Genevieve
Ada Jessamine
Ada Penelope
Ada Phoebe
Ada Chloe
Ada Clio
Ada Rhiannon
Ada Teagan
Ada Vivian/Vivienne
Ada Violet
Ada Bronwen
Ada Calliope
Ada Evangeline

Really just depends on your personal taste, but a longer middle name could definitely work just as well, if not better. :)

Hope that helps.

Ada Skye is pretty, but you're right about the initials.

Personally since Ada ends with a vowel sounds I would be inclined to choose a middle name that begins with a consonant as I think it flows better, rather than another vowel sound where you risk the two names being run together.

Personal favourites would be Ada Mae (or May) or Ada Jane for one-syllable names, although I also think Ada Marie or Ada Lily are nice.

Family names can also be used as a middle name - my mum's middle name is her mum's (my granny's) maiden name, or if there's a special family first name you can use that - both my grandfathers have the same name although both are called different shortened forms of it, and my brother has it as a middle name.

Don't forget though that she doesn't have to have a middle name - it's sometimes better to have just one name than to have two that don't really go together or that you're not totally happy with.
