That some people don't take you seriously?

I think everyone feels that way at some point. It's a part of life. From time to time we all end up looking at something from a point of view which is a little farther out than usual.
Perhaps, more directly, you are feeling as if a particular person or group of people don't take you seriously on a regular basis? These people can be challenges! If they are constantly arguing their point with you, they may just be the kind of person who wants to be right all the time. If they are always opposing your point of view, they may resent you for some reason. If they're sneering or laughing at you all the time, then they may have ego issues. It's also possible that these same, self-important people act this way in most/all of their relationships because they haven't been shown how it makes others feel or how they look to others.
Is there something that you are doing where you regularly find that NOBODY takes you seriously? Maybe you need to take a closer look at it and see if you shouldn't attack it from a different angle??

No, actually I have more the experience that people take me too seriously. Oh, once in awhile I will say something that I meant to be serious and a person assumes I am joking because it is too weird. But more often, I simply voice an opinion or make a statement I take to be simple and not very profound, and get these "wow" reactions. There was one lady at work who used to always say, "Wow, you're so smart!" whenever I gave her an answer to a question. Sort of made it sound like her standards were awfully low.

I think everyone here has felt that way too. There are times when people tend not to believe us. Maybe it is because sometimes, we also tend to become not serious that's why they dont take us seriously. Especially when it comes to love. There are people who dont take it seriously so they should not be taken seriously too....

No, not really. If I have a communication problem with someone I usually take them aside and have a one-on-one with them. At work, I have a very serious job where lives are at stake. Everyone knows it and respects it, and it is projected by me in certain terms that others realize when I say something it should be taken seriously.

I sometimes worry that people take me TOO seriously. I'm constantly saying, "No, that was just a joke" and I think they don't believe me.

yes most of the time i have this feeling that people think i am a weakling but in actual fact i am not they presume stuff they shouldnt just because i dont look like i could tackle them or sumthing doesnt mean i will take their nonsense lying down....and most of the time i prove them wrong too but i would just love to not be judged like that so often.....its really irritating me.....mayb i should just stop being nice and people would take me seriously more often........

Yeah, i dont think people listen to me.
Like Ive been trying to tell some that im happy being single but all seem to asume im Looking For Love.
Love is something that will just happen, im not going looking For it.
