During World War One, US Troops were sent to Russia to help fight against the Communists in 1918-1919. There isn't much reported from that though.

The above me is correct. The US and Russians never actually fought against each other. During the Cold War they did, however, fight a number of proxy wars (i.e. wars in which they each backed one side in a war).
The US is usually credited with 'winning' the Cold War, but some (not me) would argue that the Russians just took a break and are slowly rebuilding to reignite the 'war'.

The first two posters are wrong, US troops did go into Russia during the post Czar civil war.
