Why are the immigrants having absolutely no effect civilizing the indigenous English?

Are the English incapable of learning?

Consider:
1. The Brits have learned nothing from the controlled drinking culture of the Mediterreaneans or the abstinence of most Muslims.

2. They have learnt nothing from the work ethic of, for example, the Eastern Europeans (the Poles etc).

3. They have learnt nothing from the respect for education of the Asians (Chinese/Indians do best at school, the English are now bottom).

4. They have learnt nothing of the greater respect for family
of most immigrant communities. Their poorly raise kids are now the worst in Europe on virtually every social measure because of feckless parenting.

If you want to see indigenous English culture go to any town centre in the evenings and observe the 'binge, shag and vomit culture).

You will see why the English have the highest rates of crime, STDs, alcohol abuse and teen pregnancies in Europe.

If I had known my employer would post me in this repugnant country I never would accepted the job.

If you are saying like the drunken Poles, thieving Romanians, raping Afghans and Iraqi's, protesting Pakistanis and all the other workshy economic immigrants, (not to mention the plethora of eastern European prostitutes) Well the answer is NO!! and nor would WE want to OK!

I cannot think that your employer will want to keep employing you in this country if you are wasting your time on "answers" or perhaps you are having a day off today.
Please do not come to this country and make such sweeping statements. There are many more good people here than bad. It is after all the English who have welcomed and accepted so many foreign nationals in former centuries that have over the many years integrated to become English. Immigration is not just a modern day phenomenon. I find your tirade against the English unacceptable but glad that in this free part of the world I have the right to disagree with you. I wonder if people from your home country are allowed such freedoms.

Presumably you are an immigrant? Our country is kinda shameful in certain places, especially as you say, the drink - shag- vomit culture, I'm not sure how that has come about really. But don't let it bother you, every country has bad issues and there are beautiful sides of UK living. We have a rich and fascinating history which is still reflected around us in our architecture, traditions, laguage etc. Small town and rural life still conforms to the need of respect and community (on the most part) that you rightly mention in your question. I hope you have something here which makes you happy, and if you really don't like, just think about the experience that you're gaining and how it makes you a better person and learn from what you see here. I wasn't born in this country, and it is true that the Brits are very much more liberal than I anticipated. However, it is this freedom that other people envy, and why they want to come here by the drove.
Just for the record my observations of the culture in our town is: Two Muslims were in our local paper recently for selling alcohol to minors. The men's magazines are openly on display at mid shelf level, just in line with a kid's eyes.
My husband is an electrician, fully qualified. He often gets called in to jobs done by Polish electricians. On two occasions he was moved to complain, because he thought the work was life threatening. Not that it did much good, because as they weren't part of the British organisations, they weren't held liable.
I know many people who have well behaved and lovely children. Unfortunately, we have had too many American movies setting us an example of how to behave. I agree that there are serious problems in the culture - however I would still prefer that than having my daughter whipped because her shoes made a noise whens he walked, or being murdered because her boyfriend is "inappropriate" or some such.
At least in this country you are free to have your STD, drink your alcohol and even have sex if you wish to, without someone stoning you to death.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do. I'm very proud to be English. We do not all binge drink and shag around town. Most of us still have morals and bring our children up well. I think your view is extremely unfair. Perhaps you'll be posted out of Britain very soon with a bit of luck. Britain doesn't need anymore whingers running it down. A lot of people have a dislike for Britain, fair enough - just stay away then!

As for immigrants. Most those who come here from the baltic countries and eastern europe are criminals. Crime is how they survived in those former communist countries and they bring their 'culture' here. Some are hard workers and I applaud them. The government must do more to prevent those with a criminal record from coming here.

Some smart people would join the briton social group but they need to learn their English before. Briton is very good in education. You can learn their English very quick. Then, there is no need for innovation. British English is perfect.

You really do hate this country don't you. The other question concerned English women......So why come here.....I do not believe for one moment that you accepted a position abroad without knowing where you were going.....or could it be that your company wanted you out of there so they dangled the carrot for you......and you jumped or rather were pushed to accept what you thought was a good option.......With that type of attitude i wouldn't blame them.........again I will ask you not to tar us with the same brush...........
