After hearing about the conditions and lack of everything the soldiers see.m to be having, wouldn't it be a good idea for the legion to issue some kind of emblem that the public could donate to. I'm sure people will be saying well thats up to the govt but I'm afraid they would have a long wait.

Sparkly I'm not putting the legion down I just think the public would be glad to help do you think in usa and it was happening to their soldiers they wouldn't be trying to do something and just maybe it would shame this govt into doing something too.

I think the British Legion are doing a good job, but it would be great if there were a charity that we could send money to that would go towards things our troops need in Iraq and Afghanistan etc. I would definately send money to support them if there wsa!

However, it is up to the Government and primarily the MOD to make sure that our troops are looked after properly and protected, although they fail miserably! The government couldn't even come up with a decent decision to allow families to send parcels for free to soldiers serving abroad, its disgusting!

Our men and women are risking their lives every day over there and they are not fully supported, not out there or if / when they return! Something really needs to be done, urgently!

I think the British Legion and their members should be commended for the work they do for the retired soldiers throughout the year. The British Legion runs many social events during the year as part of the fun raising. The Legion are doing a good job.

I don't think we were properly prepared for this war, when they arrived the sand storms were clogging up the engines of the vehicles and blocking the guns. You would think simple things like that could have been avoided, lives depended on that thing called intelligence reports.

I know a lot of people don't agree with the war, but people forget we (the public/tax payers) elected these people to run the country.

One more important point I have is, when you get crazy fanatics flying planes into the trade centre and trying to blow up airports you must take drastic action. I think George Bush was right to show the whole world that we (the free countrys) won't stand for it, that's why we ran right through a country who brutally slaughters it's own people and looks to destroy the western world. Any other country out there will think twice about trying that sh!t again.

I would've nuked the whole country. To hell with diplomacy, actions speak louder than words.

The British legion do more than enough for the soliders and its about time the govt gave more help. Help for heroes is raising money through wrist bands etc , which is a brilliant idea x Anyone can send a box with essentials in it to the troops in Iraq or Afghan does not have to be much to cheer them up , even a letter of support its free
Anyone interested look at this add for further details www.bfpo.mod.uk X The american troops might have pizza hut , burger king etc , but the british troops have naff all x

The Royal British Legion are doing all that they can,all of their rescources come from donations, their biggest fund raiser is the "Poppy Appeal". As an ex serviceman, I have seen and know of the good done by the Legion.Central government should contribute more to services welfare funds.

The Royal British Legion are doing ALL that they can. What do you think the Poppy is if it is not an emblem?

It's the Ministry of Defence that you should be ranting at.

**edit. Chris above, those provisions of Mcdonalds and pizza huts are provided by the US bases. Not British. Our troops have to go to the US troops, caps in hand, like the poor relations.
You know nada.
