Tell him/her to *&$&$*&% and handle their own dirty Laundry. Thats the thing about being friends, you can tell them how it is! And they know... and if they don't like you because of it, then they were not your friend... I wouldn't judge them for what they have done and I would stay there friend as long as they accept responsibility for their own actions; who wants friends who will not be responsible for their own actions right. It is strange that you may have to lie about this, it is as if the other friend already knows that something may be happening or why else prepare to lie to them... I would just let it go over my head... remain aloof and morally superior... lose some respect for them until I forgot about it... and just move on... and if anyone asks, tell them who they need to speak to about the issue cause its none of my business. Harsh but crucial for when everything turns to *&&^ your life will be just fine! And so what if I have issues with getting attached to other peoples lives... thats just me and my personality. Like it or ...go... lol.

That has sorta happened to me once. My friend had a fling with some chick, and the chick left her makeup in his car. His girlfriend saw it, and he told her that it was mine. The funny thing was, the makeup was for a person far more dark complected than myself. She never asked me about it, but he called me after he did it to tell me to lie. I dont know what I would have said if she asked me. I was more friends with him than her, but still.....

Tell them in no uncertain terms no. Would lie if it was a little white lie but not get involved in something that could get messy.

If it is just a friend, it is none of their business. If it is their spouse, well, my friends know me well enough to know I will not lie.

My firm principle....never speak a lie. You will have to say 100 lies to maintain your first lie.Truth is always going to prevail.

I wouldn't do it...you are under no obligation to lie, cheat, or steal for anyone.

No way. A true friend wouldn't even ask this of you.

I handle it with "diplomacy". I would have to be very careful but would not compromise myself .
