This is the first Christmas in 3 years that I will have spent with my boyf and we're both very excited about it. I normally spend xmas at home, but mum was happy with me coming to see the family on boxing day instead.

BUT.. . she phones last night to say she wants to come up, stay in my flat while I stay the night with the boyfriend and then spend xmas day with us. From the sound of it dad isn't too keen. Second, the boyfriend probably won't be too keen seeing as we were really looking forward to it being just us in the mornng and then his daughter coming in the evening.

How do I tell him my parents have invited themselves to our christmas? I don't want to tell them not to come as spending Christmas together has always been a big thing for us and she obviously isn't ok with us spending it apart so is making the effort to come up to me. BTW we live about 2 1/2 hrs apart!

Thanks!!

So, have your own Christmas Morning on the 26th of December, save each a gift and do it that way. If your family is coming, that is what Christmas is all about.

If you choose not to have them there, then invite yourself there on Christmas day, you can still have your morning together, and have your b/f bring his daughter to your parents house for Christmas dinner , later in the day.

Tell your mother you'll see her on Christmas Day and what time can you expect her. It's rude and pushy to invite yourself to spend the night at someone else's house without being asked. Do not let this become a habit.

Yikes what lifes people live. Having a sleep over at your age and.... he has a daughter (I can't imagine what she thinks of dad 3 year old hook up with the new broad) The things people have to put up with today! Mom and dad must be so proud.

Stop playing house and decide if this is the real deal or not.

Honey, it is the holiday season, will it really kill you to spend ONE DAY with your parents????

I do not think so, plus, it will go by really fast, your mom will be sleeping in her own place, you and your boyfriend will still have your own private place, and then the next day, just one day, you will be spending it with your parents.

Maby they really want to bond with you and your boyfriend, and they want to see you really happy, this is a time to enjoy family, friends, and being together, and creating wonderful memories, life is to short, just be patient, and enjoy the wonderful day!!!!!

What is one day?????

Tell your mother that you have plans for Christmas, but if they would like to visit on Christmas Eve, you would love to see them.
