I started the tradition of buying each of my kids their own ornament every Christmas, one that has the date on it and is representative of something special that happened that year. When they're grown and move out, I'll give them their ornaments to decorate their first tree.

He is rather young to recall what he got in his early years.
I would suggest buying a !st Birthday Ornament with the year printed on it. Some have a place where you can put in a picture of your little one. You might want to do this yearly.

As the years go by he will have a living history on your tree.
Maybe some day he will be grown up and your grandchildren who will see your tree and all the years of orniments.
They don't all have to have a picture.

I did this for my kfds. When my oldest was growing up, I gave him orniments that fit his personality or what he was interested in as long as it has the date on it.

Otherwise Baby would enjoy some toys-

Enjoy your little one

This will seem really dorky... (I'm 24) My daddy made me my Christmas sock my first Christmas. It's a latch hook style and i use it every year and it always brings me back fond memories. This year i think i will give it to my son for his first Christmas. Also every year my grandpa and i would make a plaster of Paris cast of my hand and date it to hand on the tree. Just some ideas!
