I like to HAVE a fake one during christmas because it is easier to handle, is less messy, you can use it many years in a row, and you can meld the branches any way you want.
But I also like to GO GET the real tree. As a guy there is a lot of appeal in taking an axe to go "hunt" a tree and take it captive into my home. Ahh yes, David the tree worrior. Plus it is a good reason to get people together to go do something in the snow.
So I like to have the artificial tree and get the real tree. If only you had to go cut down the fake one.

I love real trees but they make too much mess with a small child in the house so i go for artificial!

I gave up on artificial trees years ago. They always looked funny and made such a mess with pine needles and I got water on the floor trying to keep it watered. Then I had a time trying to get it out of the house and thrown away. Artificial is much easier and cleaner.

We always had a real one, & said we'd NEVER have a fake one. We have a fake one now because we got a heat pump which dried out the tree in just 2 days! We got the tall, skinny kind, but to tell you the truth, I love it just as much, and maybe more than the real ones we used to have. It is truly a lot less fuss & muss, & SO, SO pretty! We love it!

Artificial tree because I don't like vacuuming up the pine needles. Besides we need to keep the trees and not harm them.
