UFO, by definition, is something flying that you can't identify. In that case, yes, there are probably a lot of things flying around through space that we haven't identified... some of it may be in our atmosphere.

But, if you mean, ET... no, I don't believe it. Here's why.

As far as we know, the speed of light is the universal speed limit.

Let's say there's a planet with intelligent life out there somewhere... maybe a thousand light years away. They're just now receiving light that came from here 1000 years ago. As far as they can tell... if they're interested... we don't exist. Sure, we've been here that long, but we've only been able to transmit coherent radiation (anything that might indicate we're here) for the last hundred years. That means it'll be another 990 years before they can even know we exist.

Now, suppose they're looking for life other than on their planet, and suppose they're "listening" for our radiant energy, and suppose they hear it, and suppose they recognize it as coherent and not just background noise, and suppose they decide to send a response, it'll be another 1000 years before the message gets to us. Who knows if we'll be looking/listening? Who knows if we'll recognize it as a message? What will we do?

Factor in this... currently people are talking about WW III. An all-out nuclear exchange will effectively exterminate human life on the planet. Maybe we won't be here when their reply reaches us... maybe we won't be here when they detect our presence. And, what if they're in the same precarious situation we're in? Maybe they're there today... but maybe they'll be gone by the time our coherent radiation reaches them.

But, for the sake of argument, somehow we both last the next couple thousand years. And suppose we realize that we have discovered critters with some kind of intelligence "out there." What are we going to do about it?

We've stopped funding maintenance on Hubble. We've stopped funding Moon missions. Mars missions are becoming fewer and farther between. No one country has the treasury to build a spaceship to make the journey. It will have to be enormous. It will have to be a self-sufficient planet. It will have to be able to make it's own oxygen, food, power,

For the sake of argument, somehow the nations of the world decide to cooperate, and the ship is built. If we can get it to the speed of light it'll take 1000 years to get there. Can't go that fast. So let's say we can go half the speed of light. it'll take 2000 years to get there at that speed.

For the sake of argument, we decide to make the trip... or they do. (ET's on the way). At that speed, if we a ship were to encounter a piece of space dust... maybe the size of a BB... it's going to go the full length of the ship causing explosive decompression... and there's nothing that can be done to stop it. Even if it vaporizes in a thousandth of a second after impact, it will have done enough damage to destroy the ship.

Nope, I see no physical way of accomplishing this thing... except in the movies and on television. There are theories as to how it might be accomplished. But they're only WAGs.

Think about it... there's concern of the danger of a manned mission to Mars.... and that's only a few months away... within our solar system.

I think there may be a possibility of people seeing UFOs. However, I do not believe they are aliens. If scientists were able to explain why the moon looks bigger on the horizon, maybe I would expect an explanation on why people see UFOs. The reason I think people want to believe there are some sort of aliens in outer space is because it will give them proof of evolution. Evolution is so far fetched that they feel the need to mandate its education in schools while prohibiting the education of the real creation in six days by God 5768 years ago (The only feasible explanation of this universe).

UFO is real and is Fire Ball and Earthquake and
Volcano event. These are made by eye reports. And they ARE published. And are in University ilbrary system. SO only UFO is not real? Things that people say in a report for UFO are then something that TheShadow says is not proof? But everything in a report that is non UFO is "reality" by eye. but UFO is not "reality" by the eye?

This is a funny idea!

UFO's become IFO's if all data can be gathered. There is no logical explanation for UFO's flying about and doing silly things. Any planets that might have intelliegent life are much too distant for anyone from them to visit us, and the earth cannot be hollow, since its mass is known. There is no place from which UFO's can come, so they are misidentified normal things.

A lot of typically ignorant comments which is hardly surprising, given the fringe nature of this subject. My advice to you is to watch the video at the link below and make your own mind up.

Sure and By Golly they are real.

That is why explorers are finding periscopes all over the place nowadays. The aliens have landed from their UFO's and are hiding underwater everywhere. They watch us using those periscopes so we cannot see them.

Well, I believe they are. To each his own, though. Some don't believe.

My view is, saying UFO's and extraterrestrial life don't exist just because you can't see them would be like saying a house across town doesn't exist just because you don't see it. :)

Remember The X-Files..."The truth is out there." ;)

yes, because look at comic books and etc, they all imagine from one point or another that it might have all come from a person who have seen something out of the ordinary coming from the sky.
